Nadine was a genuinely lovely host! She couldn't have been more warm and friendly soon meeting us at the apartment, and put a lot of effort into making us feel at home, and settled in. She clearly loves having guests stay, and she is truly lucky to have such a lovely home so close to Manhattan. We chose this listing because at tourists in the area, we were keen to stay in a convenient location, but without the expensive price tag that Manhattan apartments fetch, and this option proved to be perfect! It was such a quick and easy trip into Manhattan each day, with a bus pulling up outside the apartment almost every time we stepped out the door, and the trip was usually only around 20 minutes. It was great to come back to a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood each evening after a busy day in the city, and it really was a nice contrast, that I think improved our stay. I would recommend this area and this listing to anyone wanting to see NYC as I think it's perhaps a hidden gem that people don't realise is so easily accessible, and affordable. Nadine was a superb host and I would definitely stay with her again. Although with too many glowing reviews she may become booked out!
From beginning to end Nadine was a superb host. She went above end beyond to accommodate and made my entire stay truly feel as a home away from home.
Nadine even gave me a full tour and showed me the routes to get around in the city.
The commute to the city is simple and easy with beautiful views along the way.
My mother and I arrived some hours earlier than we told Nadine. We just really wanted to make sure that we are going to be punctually, we did not know anything about the traffic and we thought there will be much more traffic jams.
I was a little bit ashamed when I had to call Nadine and tell her that we are that early, but she on her side was laughing when she heard that we had already arrived. She told us a nice place in the near to get something to eat and recommended a place to us where we would be able to do some grocery shopping. That was a really warm-hearted reaction.
The welcome was also very warm-hearted, she told us everything we had to know about the neighborhood, about some restaurants in the near of the apartment and about possibilities how we could easily get to New York City.
She had also written down everything so we could read through her summary and had all the information we needed without asking her again.
The time it takes to the Times Sq. , the apartment itself and everything else was totally in accordance with her description.
In addition the neighborhood was very calm and we felt very safe.
All in all we definitely recommend the apartment to everybody, we spent a great time there.
Thank you for everything, Nadine!
We had an awesome time at this place. Nadine is an excellent host and a sweet person. We reached late at her place. She received us with a warm smile and got us settled quickly. At our request, she even took us on a walk down the street at the late hour to show the amazing skyline view of New York.
This place is well connected, quite calm and safe. There were buses every 2-3 minutes to NY Times square. A 3 minute walk and you could see breathtaking view of the NY skyline. Since Nadine had already filled the refrigerator with food items, we didn't have to shop :-). There are shops at walking distance. The place had a full kitchen with all the necessary utensils. It was well maintained and clean.
The garden is a plus point. A small and beautiful garden, having breakfast here is a blissful feel. I would definitely recommend this place and would definitely go back here for 2 reasons- Nadine and neighborhood. Thanks for making our trip a memorable one!!!
Nadine is a very kind person and will help you the best she can. The apartment is perfect to visit NY but to stay in a more quite place (only 30 minutes bus to Manhattan with best view on the skyline). It is in a quite neighborhood and the place is as described.
Our stay at nadine has been wonderful. It has very good advice and is a very attentive hostess.
The location is great (less than half an hour of time square with bus)
The apartment is quite a description.
Access to the garden is a real plus.
Nadine is a very nice person.
We recommend Nadine as hostess.
Nadine was an exceptional host during our month-long stay. The garden apt was indeed lovely, and equipped with everything we needed. Nadine always promptly responded to any inquiries prior to our arrival and was on-hand if we needed anything during our stay. There is a beautiful garden, with patio seating, just outside of the apt. Also, the bus stop for Port Authority buses is only about a block away, and buses run very frequently (every 5-10 min). The area felt very safe for my young daughter and me and we took daily walks to a nearby park, viewing the amazing Manhattan skyline along the way. The experience exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely stay here again!

About the Host, Nadine
I'm a native New Yorker from Manhattan and a six year resident of New Jersey. I wish I'd discovered this area years ago. We have the best of both worlds-- quiet suburban living with the city just 20 minutes away.
I've worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and enjoy meeting new people. AirBnB provides me with an unending stream of wonderful families to host.
