My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at the "Breaking Bad" Loft. It is quite roomy, very clean and has a fantastic kitchen (added bonus: there was a NutriBullet blender which served us well for our morning green smoothies!) Raul and Jim were very attentive, checking in to make sure everything was fine AND Raul provided a wonderful list of restaurants, cultural venues, farmers markets, outdoor hiking/bike trails and other must see's while staying in Albuquerque. Internet connection was great too which was perfect as this was a work/pleasure trip for both of us. Although the loft is situated in a "transitional" neighborhood, it's actually a perfect location for walking to both farmers markets (Downtown Growers Market on Saturday & the Railyard Market on Sunday), downtown shops, cafe's, coffee shops, hiking trails etc. It was such a pleasurable visit and we look forward to staying in the Loft for upcoming ABQ trips.
Awesome accommodation! Really well-designed, super secure. The kitchen is well-stocked. Good selection of vinyl (small but wide, fun). Very convenient location.
I had a fantastic time staying at Raul's loft. Both he and Jim were very welcoming, proactive with arrival information and very responsive. The space is great, love how it's been renovated and set up. I was in town for both work and pleasure, and this space suited me perfectly. There was an area for me to set up as my "office" along with space for daily yoga & meditation - a great bonus! The internet connection was very good and I was able to work remotely with no issues. I enjoyed having a full kitchen (even though I didn't really use all of it, it was nice to have the option), and the living spaces were clean and very comfortable. When I realized that the remote for one of the ceiling fans wasn't working, Jim was right on top of it, very happy with the responsiveness.
The neighborhood is a true urban area, but don't let that deter you. As a single woman I felt very safe, the building is secure, I found the neighbors friendly and loved being able to walk to the Rail Yards Market and explore some great restaurants in the area. It's a historic part of downtown and gives you access that most normal tourists don't have.
I'll definitely plan on staying here again!
As always, our stay at the Breaking Bad Loft was a success. Clean, welcoming and easy access. Host was extremely helpful, going very much out of his way to make sure we had what we needed.
Will be back next year.
Highly recommend this space.
I had a nice time staying at Raul's loft but I did notice a few things he could change if he wants his place to have The Breaking Band theme. In my opinion, he should add a few things such as: The Breaking Band logo above the bed in the bedroom and a couple face shot paintings, like the ones in the kitchen, on the adjacent wall. Maybe of Saul and Gus . At least that's what I would do if it was my place.
Also, a warning to those who like a bedroom to be pitch black, when sleeping, because there is an open wall space (in bedroom) that prevents complete darkness.
Other than that, the place was great and the location is good. The center of Downtown is just a short walk from the loft.
I did not have any communication with Raul but I must say Jim was very informative when I met him in Austin and answered any questions I had while staying at location.
Raul and Jim were so kind and took us in spontaneously. They both recommended quite a few places for us to see while we were in town. The house is amazing and incredibly gorgeous. Loved that the area was quiet but still central.
