About this listing

The space

Retro Room
Private Room decorated with vintage furniture in a residential home with a Private bath. It has a comfortable queen sized bed, a hanging rack for your clothes and a pull-out sofa which can comfortably accommodate a third person.
The bathroom has a sink, toilet, shower (no bath) and shelves to store your toiletries. Though on the small side, it's functional for its use.
I provide clean linens, pillows and towels.
Being on the ground floor the bedroom is cool even on a hot day in summer but if you can't live without air-conditioning then it seems we just weren't meant to be.

The House
This is affordable accommodation with easy access to Hvar center & waterfront. The house is located 5 minutes from the city center, 2 minutes from the waterfront yet on a quiet residential street.
We have a lovely courtyard garden & a terrace where you are welcome to hang out.
Wi-fi is available throughout the house.
There is a private parking that you can use for your car or a motorcycle.
As you have probably noticed I have another property with a similar name. Well, this is the same house, just another room.
The maximum number of guests that can stay in my house is 6, three in each of two rooms with the use of pull-out sofa beds. Each room has a private bathroom.
There is a bookshelf with many different guides and novels to read and you can use it as a book exchange.

Good to know
I'm flexible on the price for the third person and if you are staying for 5 nights or more. Feel free to inquire with your dates, # of people in your party, if you will be sharing a bed, or if you need two separate sleeping spaces, and I'll let you know what I can offer.

On Hvar
Hvar is half way between beautiful backpacking destination and a five star hang out for the rich and famous. The reasons for its increasing popularity are obvious – gorgeous beaches and secluded coves hidden under tall, ragged mountains and quaint towns with marbled streets.
Despite the influx of the well off it’s still affordable for people travelling on a budget. Staying in a private house is the most affordable option and that will also give you a chance for a more authentic stay on the island.
When in Hvar wander the beautiful streets and take in the medieval delights that will lead you all the way down to the crystal clear waters where you can relax all day long, day after day. It’s hard to get bored of that sort of scenery, but if you do there’s always a party on offer in Hvar, whether it’s day or night.
And that tends to be what Hvar’s visitors want to do. They may be wealthy Italian youngsters on their summer holidays or they might be backpackers in search of some sun and luxury, but Hvar manages to keep them all happy with it’s array of scenic offerings. Throw in 24/7 parties and it’s hard to find a fault…

Our stay at Neven's place was great. He picked us up from the boat and was very friendly and helpful notably to carry the suitcases ! Location, Room, bathroom and wifi were great. There even was a nice terrace. Neven advised us some places (restaurants, beach, bar,...) which were really nice. We were well welcomed and spent a perfect time there. We recommend him !

Neven was a kind, friendly host. He met us at the port from the catamaran, guided us back to the room, and gave excellent local tips. The room is basic, but accurately described, and good value. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The place is just like the pictures, maybe even lighter and nicer. The host is great and very friendly, and he can recommend a lot of activities and things to experience in Hvar. The house had a really good and low key vibe. It also did have the perfect location only a couple of minutes from the city centre, and it was still very quiet. We are very pleased with our stay and would definately come back. All the good reviews of the room were true. The wifi was ok, it did work, but it could be better.

Neven was an amazing host, Hvar was probably my boyfriend and I's favorite place during our europe trip. He picked us up from the ferry port and walked us to his house (5 min away) and showed us beaches, restaurants, and nightlife options through the island. The room was cool throughout the day and also had a fan and personal bathroom, which was a big plus. At night if we wanted to relax at home there were seats on the deck we could just sit, drink and watch the view. Overall everything was easily accessible and we were so glad we chose to stay there!

The room was exactly as on the pictures. Everything we needed was there. The house is well located, 5 minutes walking from the town. Neven was very friendly and he came to the seaport to pick us up and lead us to the house, this is a little thing but we really appreciated it. He also gave us many tips about the island. Neven stays available even after our departure to give piece of advice for the rest of our trip in Croatia. We recommend this place to everyone! ENJOY

Our stay at retro was great. The location was ideal with a scenic 7 minute walk to the city centre. The room is basic but has everything you'd need. Neven is very knowledgeable about Hvar and was happy to share what he knew in terms of bars, beaches, restaurants and even the history of the city. Would definitely recommend!!

I've been renting my place out for years and I travel a lot myself so I have a pretty good idea what you'll need while visiting Hvar.
I consider myself easygoing and laid-back and know quite a bit about Hvar & Croatia. Local knowledge is priceless and I should be able to give you a few tips on things to do if you're short of ideas. Feel free to write to me with any questions you may have, but read the description carefully first - chances are that many of your questions are already answered here.
Pickup from bus or boat – I'll be there; and If I'm not available at the time, I'll send someone.
If you are having a late transfer you can leave the luggage with me, then enjoy the last full day in Hvar!
