The flat is perfect for 2 adults but is also suitable for a family with 2 children or for 3 adults. It is located on the first floor (18 steps), reachable through a small private courtyard.
The two small windows come with insect screens and so does one of the two doors that grants access to the apartment, providing ventilation without having to worry about mosquitoes.

Interaction with Guests

We will respect your privacy and we will not access the flat during your stay. In any case we live in Florence, therefore you can easily get in touch with us in case you need help and/or information.

The Neighborhood

The flat is inside the historic centre but is not overcrowded, which makes it more relaxing. The area surrounding Piazza del Carmine
is filled with well-known restaurants and bars, like the "La Dolce Vita" or the "Antico Ristoro di Cambi" to name a few.
The Brancacci Chapel is home to the famous frescoes by Masaccio and Masolino, considered the first masterworks of the Italian Renaissance.

Getting around

Florence is a relatively small city filled with pedestrian areas, so it's easy to walk everywhere while it's quite difficult to drive and (most of all) park in the city. Therefore, we suggest, in your best interest, to NOT reach Florence by car.

  • We had a wonderful time in this quiet Florence apartment, it's clean cosy and had everything we needed.

We would live to stay there again :)

  • Staying at Alessandro and Natasha's place was great, completely exceeded our expectations. We met Natasha, who was extremely nice and very friendly, had fruit waiting for us, a very nice touch, she gave us a map for Florence and recommended some great things to do we didn't know about, the hosts were very accomodating and very flexible, great communication, response to questions right away...the apartment is modern and beautiful, true to photos, very comfortable bed...everything you need to make yourself at home...situated close to everything, we actually walked back to the train station with our luggage on Natasha's recommendation with no problem, there are cafes and a grocery store incredibly close by, safe neighboorhood, walking back a night was never a problem ...all-in-all a great experiece, would def stay there again!

  • This flat was one of the best I've ever stayed in! Beautifully done up and in a lovely neighbourhood - we couldn't have asked for more during our short stay in Florence. The hosts were very accommodating, letting us drop our bags off early whilst the flat was being cleaned.

  • I've just spent a delightful 4 nights at this adorable well equipped flat and couldn't have been more pleased. It was quite unseasonably warm the day I arrived in Florence on June 10th so I was so grateful for the newly installed AC in both the living area and bedroom. The flat is conveniently located within easy walking distance to the old city with all the sights. I would definitely recommend this flat and if I'm ever in Florence would feel fortunate to return here.

  • Our stay at Churchside was fantastic. The apartment is very well located, close to the centre and to the train station. Alessandro and Natasha were such nice people. They gave us a lot of information and helped us out whenever we needed something. Hope to stay with them again if we return to Florence!

  • What a super fantastic experience we had at this lovely modern flat in Florence. I can't say enough good things about it!! It is in the perfect location, away from the crowds but still city centre in an area that is wonderful to explore. The hosts do an amazing job explaining everything you will need during your stay. I highly recommend this flat for your next stay in Florence.

  • Alessandro and Natasha were so helpful to us. We did not arrive in Florence until after 11 pm and they came and met us and even left some breakfast items because it was so late. The apartment is just as advertised and was very comfortable for the three of us. We like being in the Oltrarno--a little quieter, but still an easy walk to the center of town. We would definitely return.

  • A very nicely appointed flat, in a convenient location away from the tourist crowds but close enough to the places you will want to visit. Don't let the access to the flat disappoint you at all, the comforts within and nearness to most things you will want for a short/long stay will help you settle in quickly! It is obvious that a lot of thought has been applied when furnishing the flat and providing normal household supplies that you will not have to scramble for on your own after arriving. Nice touch there, and thank you Natasha for being the welcoming host!

Also, great to have a recently opened grocery store, Conad, just a short walk away. Plenty of convenient eating places within short distances.

Natasha was responsive to communications during our stay, which helped a lot. She helped with answers to my lingering questions in good time. Thank you!

A few suggestions/tips. You may have to re-set the wi-fi router each morning (unplug/plugin), it then works fine. Also, it will be wise to request the host to actually demonstrate the use of appliances during check-in (we didn't even though Natasha asked us, our mistake!)...the ones in the flat may operate differently to what you are accustomed to. Also if visiting during summer months suggest that you check in advance whether airconditioning is available if you expect it for your own stay...the start of summer in Florence may not coincide with summer for you. We missed on this one :) and it was uncomfortable at night! Fortunately, the 2nd night was cooler but it was unsettling to hear the neighbor's airconditioners whirring away :(

The listing indeed states that airconditioning is available during summer but it would have been nice to know from the listing the start date for summer in Florence.

In future, choosing our dates more wisely, we would come back and stay again!

    Response from Alessandro & Natasha:

    Hello Sanjiv!

First of all, we would like to thank you for sharing your point of view as this gives us the chance to better understand each guest needs and help us improve the service we provide.
When we write "available during summer" (or winter) we refer to the seasons of course, a worldwide known criteria, which changes only if you change hemisphere. :)
As you surely know, the summer season starts on the 21st June (summer solstice) and ends the 23rd September and that's also the period during which we guarantee that AC will be available.
In any case that doesn't mean that it's not possible to have AC during spring or autumn. For example, if the temperature reaches 36° C in May like it did few years ago, we will start the AC during spring as much as we never had problems keeping the heating on outside the winter season if the temperature motivates that.
Also, we would like to point out that our neighbours do not have any air conditioning unit, so we assume that what you might have heard, was simply the extractor fan from the restaurant downstairs.
Although during your stay the temperature never exceeded 29°C, we are anyhow sorry that you had an uncomfortable night.

  • Natasha welcomed us in a very warm way and took time to explain everything to us. She had some very good advice regarding restaurants (Anita's!) and ice cream... The apartment is spacious and furnished in a very nice and tasteful way - there is a kitchen equipped with really everything one needs - and the bathroom is also nice and clean. We felt very much at home. The apartment located in a quiet corner, the only thing that held us awake one night were mosquitos ;-) We also liked very much that you can reach all the museums, churches and so on by foot. All in all: A great place to stay in Florence. We highly recommend to book it.

  • We had a fabulous time at the flat, which is just perfect for visiting Florence for a few days. The location is excellent, in one of the nicest areas of the city, yet completely quiet. The interior looks just like on the airbnb pictures - just great. It is also extremely well equipped, so you won't be missing anything.

All in all, I can only highly recommend the churchside flat. Alessandro and Natasha were lovely hosts and I'm grateful for their hospitality.

About
We got married on October 2011, I am a Florentine born and raised while Natasha moved here from a small city close to Novosibirsk, Russia. We both work in shifts, so there's no time of the day when we can be 100% sure to be available, therefore the easiest thing is to let us know about your arrival time and we will do our best to find a solution that can make, you, us and our employers happy! :) Natasha likes shopping... I like football, she loves reading and I love music, we both love eating, travelling and watching some TV shows like Big Bang Theory for example. I'm the tech savvy person and she's the handy person, so the worst mistake you can do is ask Natasha to help you with your pc or ask me to help you with the washing machine. :)
