I'm still new to airbnb having only stayed in two places so far. They were similar in cost and style, but this place blew me away. The space itself is very inviting and (website hidden), cable, Kitchen w/ fridge, anything you need to cook meals and some if you want. Nice bathroom, comfy bed etc. And clean as possible. We walked to town and back several times, never moved the car once we arrived until we left. They also have bikes which we took all over the city, and did almost the entire bike path. Next time we are bringing passports and riding into Canada. Yup, its happening. Burlington is a blast, and this is the perfect location. This is their business, and they run it like pro's.
Everything you would want, but then on top of that she left all kinds of unexpected stuff. Big muffins, eggs, milk, cream, OJ, coffee etc etc.
Also, I couldn't end the review without mentioning that Carol and Allison are awesome. I could hang out with them any time. That was really what put it over the top for me. We talked with them for a few minutes, and it was a blast. Just great people, wish I could explain it better. Thanks!
We just enjoyed the most wonderful three-night stay with Carol in Burlington. The apartment is exactly as advertised, only better. She says they do not provide breakfast, yet we found everything we we need to get us through to lunch. The place is spacious and well arranged, so that we had plenty of room for all our voluminous stuff. A small point, the bathroom doors are louvered, not solid, but that posed no problem for us. The bikes were the main thing that drew us to choose Carol's place. The mountain bike was a bit small for a taller person, but I LOVED riding the wonderful bike paths of Burlington. What a great city and superb apartment!
Carol's apartment is superb - our "go to" place when visiting Burlington, we would never dream of staying anywhere else. The numerous 5 star reviews tell all. Check in was seamless. The place is immaculate, all the amenities you could ever need are included such as soap, shampoo, hand lotion, etc., and Carol kindly stocks the refrigerator with all the essentials to get you started, including bread, tea, coffee, juice, milk and always some delicious treat. The apartment has the most excellent uber positive vibes. The porch and the bikes are such a great addition, be sure to use both freely. The bike paths throughout Burlington are grand. Most importantly, take some time to get to know Carol, she is an absolute gem! Carol's place is within easy walking distance to both downtown and the lovely waterfront. Book early, this prime location books up quickly, and with good reason. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Carol!
Carol's place was great. Just a block away from all the cool new stuff going on in the south end of Burlington yet super quiet. The screened in porch downstairs is a great place for a cup of coffee or for reading a book. Carol happened by right as we were checking in and we had a lovely conversation. The place is neat and tidy and very comfortable. Great place for sure. Carol was very quick about getting back to us as soon as I made the reservation.
We were very pleased with our stay at this apartment and are definitely considering coming back to it! The location was great for us – a 20-minute walk to the heart of downtown. It is on a very quiet street, and was very quiet in the apartment, with great privacy. It has a window AC unit which cools the place down quickly, so when it is cooler in the morning, we could open the windows and let the air in. It is upstairs, off a screened porch which is nice for sitting on. The steps up are a bit steep. The bicycles are a huge plus for me: I rode with my son (who lives in Burlington) all the way up to the bike ferry on the causeway, 20-mile round trip. We saw our host, Carol, several times coming and going, with pleasant interactions. The bed was OK. The apartment was immaculately clean, and the extras very thoughtful: enough food items for some breakfasts and snacks; toiletries and hair dryer, extra towels, also sun- and bug-screen, which we did not use but seemed nice to have available anyway. It is like a small efficiency apartment, with ample sitting space for the TV and a small dining table. Ample closets. Can't say enough about the location, with its two bakeries, renowned coffee shop, and three breweries all within a half-hour walk one way, with all of the downtown even closer the otherway. We put the highest value on walkability in our stays, and this place gave us all of it that we wanted for probably less than half of what the downtown hotels charged.
Had a wonderful time staying in Carol's apartment. Clean, quiet, and so close to everything! We didn't end up using the bikes, but it was great that they were provided as an option. This was my first time using airbnb, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. :) Staying here was the perfect way to see Burlington for the first time.
Carol was a great host. She was there to greet us as we were taking our things in and was warm and welcoming. She gave us a quick rundown on how and where we could find dinner. I was very surprised to discover a cabinet and refrig full of necessities for eating breakfast and snacking. This saved us from having to spend the evening grocery shopping. Instead, we hopped on the bikes Carol provides (after she allowed us to choose from several) and took a leisurely ride to the waterfront. Another surprise was how easy if was for us to find places to stow our 3 suitcases, 2 backpacks and cooler in the apartment without any of it getting in our way. The apartment is bright and cheerful as pictured. The location was quiet (we slept peacefully), close to restaurants, a bakery, the art district, easy walk to (email hidden)., and a great place to start the bike ride to South Hero.
We had a great time. Thank you Carol.
