Enjoy my private and peaceful 1 BR apartment with lovely garden views and only a block from Garfield Park in quaint South Pasadena.
This is a 1940's building that looks more like an inn than an apartment building...winding brick paths, lush green landscaping and a deck complete with chairs, small table and a trellised Star Jasmine. The setting and neighbors are very quiet and I have found it to be a great place to study without distraction during my first year in the Physician Assistant Program at USC. The many green parrots of Pasadena zipping around the tree tops are a little extra added surprise!
As was the style in the 40’s all rooms have several large windows and the space is quite light, with blinds and gauzy curtains for additional privacy. Living room includes a flat screen TV with DVR, Blueray/DVD player with Netflix access if you have an account. Cozy dining room with table has a view to the front garden and to the trees in Garfield Park. Original artwork in all rooms, either my own or by artist friends. Large bedroom has dresser and closet space available, as well as a large pine bookcase with a variety of books for your perusal. Kitchen includes microwave, full size stove, refrigerator, coffee maker and/or French Press. I’ll leave some coffee and milk in the refrigerator for your first morning! Bathroom has shower and a few cabinet shelves available for your belongings. There are two air-conditioners, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, so if we have another hot summer, you will be able to stay cool! There are also ceiling fans in the dining room and bedroom, which keep the rooms cool on all but the hottest days.
If you are not familiar with South Pasadena, you are in for a treat. It is a quaint town with wonderful Craftsman style homes with large trees and shady sidewalks for great walking. It is a small town setting, complete with a 4th of July parade and several great restaurants and coffee shops, most within walking distance. You can also walk to the Bristol Farms grocery, drug store, library, post office, banks, tennis courts, yoga studio and great old time ice cream parlor. Trader Joes is just a short drive away. It truly feels like a small town surrounded by metropolitan Los Angeles. You can walk or drive and park for free near the Mission Street Station Gold Line train, which puts you in downtown LA in 15min. Old Town Pasadena is also a short train or drive with a wider variety of restaurants, wine bars, etc. It is also a short drive to the San Gabriel Mountains and the Angles National Forest with wonderful hiking trails that make you feel like you are far from a metro area.
I will be out of town July 1-20 and again July 24 to approx. Aug 18. I have a 1 week minimum and if the entire time is needed, we could arrange. I will be staying in a separate bedroom for the three or four days between trips and will give a greatly reduced rate while I am there. Otherwise, you will have the entire apartment to yourself. I will be accessible by phone, email and text and will have an on-site manager available should any problem arise. Also coin operated washer/dryer is on premises.
Complimentary garage parking for one car is available.
High speed wireless internet is complimentary, as is cable TV.
This space is comfortable for one guest or a couple, no additional beds are available. Maximum two people in the apartment. Sorry, no pets or smoking allowed. Although I love children, only adults are allowed. Two week minimum stay.
Less than a mile to the South Pasadena Train station and .2mi (couple blocks) to Fair Oaks and bus lines
Stay here and you could give this host their first review!
