the house was just gorgeous and perfect for a little college reunion with five friends. easy walk to the beach, soothing wave sounds, comfortable living room with other little nooks to explore. great location for the kinds of things we were interested in (santa monica, venice). plus, john was amazing and returned every question/text within seconds. highly recommend this place!
John's home was the perfect getaway for our family weekend.
The house has a ton of character. It was nice to have common areas for the family while also having the option of spending time curling up with a book in a cozy room. It was also great to wake up to the sounds and views of the ocean.
This was a great home for myself and my family. Great location and very neat layout/decor.
My family and I stayed a weekend at this charming house. Really cool home with a lot of character. Short walk to the beach made for pleasant family outings. Amazing views from the home really set the tone for the weekend. Loved the commercial-grade stove and griddle - made cooking for our group much easier.
Note that there are multiple levels so if you are not comfortable with stairs you may wish to reconsider.
John was super responsive and very accommodating to our family's needs - response time was usually within 15 minutes. Helped us resolve any questions quickly. Very considerate host.
The house was AAAAMMMAAAZZZIIIINNNGGG ! We loved it there and woke up to a beautiful view and playing dolphins in sight. John was fantastic and I would stay in this house again in a heart beat!
We had a group of 9 people, we all enjoyed the stay at Mediterranean House.
Absolutely gorgeous house, exactly as described, beautiful, artistic, and comfortable.
The host was very caring, friendly and helpful.
If you're looking for a fantastic romantic ocean view getaway in LA, look no farther than Mediterranean House by the Sea. The house entices - like that friend whose stories hold your eager attention for hours. The sun lights and warms the place from dawn to dusk. The ocean is right there, out of every window, and you can hear the waves as you fall asleep. It's a short walk through the neighborhood to the overpass over PCH and then viola you're at the beach. Groceries and restaurants are a short drive away. Kitchen has everything you need. We rented the whole house for just the two of us and it held us in our togetherness for three luxurious nights. We stayed in Bedroom #2 which we chose for its south/west facing windows which bathe the bed in warmth and light. We just got home and are quite eager to go back.
John was a great host and we would be quite happy to rent with him again.
Bottom Line: consider yourself lucky if you get to spend a few nights here at some point in your life.
1. The house is an architectural masterpiece
2. The location is ideal - perfect blend of feeling remotely separated from LA when you're there, yet being only 10 minutes from Santa Monica. You can hear waves crashing on sand yet not the road traffic from PCH. Loved that.
3. The host does a great job making sure it's clean, well supplied with cooking/eating gear, and comfortable.
I stayed here over Christmas week with my extended family. This place made our holidays so much more memorable. The main living room is a great place to gather and hang out, the dining room is perfect for a dinner for 8, and the patio works great for happy hour sunset drinks. We would come back here for another holiday week in a heartbeat.
Thank you John on behalf of my entire family for giving us a perfect platform to enjoy our holidays in one of the best parts of LA.
John was a nice host. Although we didnt get a chance to meet him but he gave us every information we need. The house was perfect. I love the house very much. Next time when we rent this house again we would stay definitely for more days.
I recently rented this house for Thanksgiving and invited my closest friends. It was an incredible experience. My first time using Airbnb and for sure not my last. John was extremely helpful in the rental process and very attentive. The house was so unique and perfect for a big, diverse group. We are already talking about next year.
I highly recommend this property.
