The Space

We live in large Edwardian house with an arts and crafts movement feel to it. The large garden (email hidden) to contemplate in except in winter!
The kitchen, bathroom and shower room are all shared but we give guests access to our 2nd sitting room with sky tv ( TV also in each bedroom).

Guest Access

Access to 2nd sitting room, bathroom, shower room, kitchen and garden.

Interaction with Guests

It is important to us that you feel comfortable and we will always want guests to feel at home. Whether you want peace and quiet, or info on amenities we are happy to help.

The Neighborhood

We love the area not just for the views. The community is warm and helpful, typical northern hospitality.

Getting around

We live on the main route through the valley so buses are every 10 minutes. Train station 1 mile away in Mytholmroyd giving you access to Leeds (45 mins) and Manchester (45 mins). The M62 is about 20 minutes max away at busy times (jct 22)

Check In
  • Paul was very relaxed and welcoming and made me feel at home. I loved the house and garden, big elegant rooms beautifully decorated and full of interesting artworks. I will definitely be returning.

  • Andrew and Paul provided excellent hospitality with good quality accommodation, a sofa and TV in the bedroom, free wifi access and our own sitting room, breakfast-making facilities, toast and hot drinks. We appreciated the immaculate bathroom and very efficient separate shower. Andrew was away, but Paul was friendly, welcoming and helpful.

We enjoyed our visit and would not hesitate to go back.

  • We loved it. Beautiful house, gorgeous garden, friendly and very welcoming hosts. We'd normally look for a place where you can book the whole house / flat but couldn't find anything in the right area so booked to stay with Paul and Andrew. Paul was absolutely great. We got loads of good advice and just a very comfortable and welcoming feel. Would certainly be coming back if we visit the area again.

  • Paul collected us from the train station at mytholmroyd and took us to the house and showed us round... The house is amazing with artwork everywhere you look. Andrew and Paul clearly have great taste and are brilliant hosts, guiding us to local pubs and scenic walks.. Very welcoming, very down to earth, very knowledgable about the area and to cap it all they are fellow smiths fans.. A brilliant base to explore the area....

  • Andrew and Paul were extremely helpful from the moment we applied to stay with them; helping with directions, excellent facilities and they are extremely friendly. Thank you!

  • What a lovely couple!! Even if the house wasn't as wonderful as it was we'd go back just for them! We booked very last minute but they were very accommodating about arrival time, etc. due to traffic we were even later than we thought but Paul dismissed this as an issue and welcomed us warmly when we arrived.
The house is just beautiful - a stunning arts and craft property (the stairs - wow!) tastefully decorated with lots of liberty, beautiful William Morris print wallpaper, antiques and interesting art from around the world. We had our own living room which was great as it meant that although it was late the three of us could sit together and plan our next move without all piling onto a bed. When Andrew arrived home he too was incredibly friendly and pleasant. They gave us tips about where to go on our trip to Scotland and where to have breakfast the next morning (although they left lots of bread, coffee, etc).
The two rooms were both nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable with stunning views of this beautiful part of the world. In all it was a great stay and I can highly recommend it.

  • We were very well looked after . Especially on the morning we left when we were delayed sorting out car hire problems on the net.

  • my second visit which says all. A very comfortable room and house; very welcoming hosts and so much better than any hotel for the personal touch

  • Warm welcome from Paul and a warm comfortable room for the night.
