My stay at Sara and Yanis' was perfect. Once I found the house (which can be difficult - it's right in the corner at the top of the hill in the neighborhood), they both came right out to greet me. The room was clean, I had everything I needed, and Sara and Yanis respected my privacy very much. The neighborhood was quiet, yet very close to downtown Fort-de-France and it was easy for me to park and drive to all parts of the island. The WiFi was great, and if I needed anything I could just knock on their door upstairs. Most importantly, as a solo female traveler, I felt very safe here. They even provided drinks on the balcony one evening - it was delightful. A real taste of Martinique. I highly recommend staying here!

This place has a beautiful view, but is very secluded and hard to find. My friend was allowed to check in early, but could not find the place and the host didn't call her back until two hours later. She share that they were not very helpful in making suggestions to get around since public transit was closed for carnival. I would not recommend this place for first time visitors as it is 1 hour walk into town and a 15 minute ride on the bus or in the car to fort de France. The room is very quaint, but being there more than 1-2 days would not be best. The dust and bugs may affect your allergies. I honestly just stared feeling itchy, irritated, and disgusted after seeing so many bugs and not wanting to utilize the bathroom. The shower looked I cleaned and very small. I showered with shoes on the whole time and i only showered for 5 mins tops. It does come equipped with a fridge, microwave, and a hot plate, however, do not expect complimentary items. Only two towels were given. There was nothing else suggested or offered to make the stay more comfortable. The place is far from grocery stores, but there is a pharmacy, bakery, and a pizza place if you walk a distance. This place would be suited for only sleeping at night and for people who are going to be having out all day.

Well, we don't want to start a debate here, but we apologized many times for not being reachable for those two hours, however it was not our fault if Fort-de-France was closed because of Carnival and I could not have left my business in Ducos to pick you downtown, even if I would. Martinique is a TROPICAL island, so YES there are bugs ! Ladies, our advice : take some time to inform yourself about the place you go, or ask your host. 15mn ride on the bus and it's not good enough for you, seriously ? You can not expect to have a quiet place AND a citylife. It is not a hotel room, you had a kitchen (and all you needed to cook and eat), TWO beds (that you shared with people you invited to sleep WITHOUT our permission and had a PARTY), a terrace, a garden and a bathroom with soaps and towels for you and your friend (towels that I found on the floor like mops)... Considering the way you left our place (dirty and filled with papers, clothes and food everywhere), I would like to say Fatimah, maybe you should review your demands.

I loved staying chez Sara et Yanis. Next time I come back I will surely look out for their place. I was in town for work so I did not spend much more time than evenings to sleep but the bus is really close and there is a pizzeria right down the road. Thanks!!

Staying with Sara and Yanis couldn't have been better. They were super helpful and kind, and they invited me to try "ti' punch" while we snacked on chips and (incredible) homemade guacamole, all the while discussing Martinique, music, and a bit of politics. The room was cozy and there's a hammock just outside with wonderful views. I would stay here again 110%. Thank you guys!!

Had a great stay with Sara and Yanis. They were very friendly and their English was very good. They live above the apartment, which has a private entrance, so are available for questions and the like. Unfortunately I wasn't able to spend a whole lot of time with the hosts as I was out exploring the wonderful island. The apartment is nice but basic, and a fantastic deal for the price. It has all of the essentials you would need except maybe A/C. There is a fan and I was comfortable at night as the house is up on a hill, with a breeze and a nice view of the city below. Its in a very quite residential neighborhood that you can hear the birds and other creatures chirping away in the surrounding woods. Its also on a one-way circle, that i had to go around a couple of times before i found the correct address. But from the airport it was a very easy drive, maybe around 10 minutes, its basically two turns. I would you think you would need a car, as i did, but there may (?) be public transportation on the main road. I'm not sure though. But with a car i was able to zoom all over the island, on the great roads, from the white sand beaches of the south to the mountainous and lush north end. I loved everything about my little get away and would highly recommend the apartment for a nice, clean, safe base from which to launch your island adventures. It is basic so don't expect high end luxury of the Ritz-Carlton, but it is 100 times better than a hostel, and way cheaper too. It's not really a place you would hang out at, as its a residential neighborhood, but for a place to rest your head at night, its perfect. I actually felt a little guilty as I felt that i was underpaying this nice, young couple. So I did leave them a bottle of wine as thanks and a soft-sided cooler that i had purchased for myself on the island. Hopefully they, or some future guests can get some use out of it. I'll be def. back.
