Julie was awesome, she was perfectly on time to meet us upon our arrival. She made herself available prior to arrival to ask any questions about the apartment, such as a hair dryer. This apartment had everything we needed and was a cozy stay. We couldn't have asked for a better location! It was so close to the beach and many restaurants were close by.
Pros: The location is fantastic. Right on a quiet street in between Dizengoff and Ben Yehuda and just a quick walk to the beach. Really fantastic. Also there is a nice garden outside that expands the space of the property if the weather is nice. There is a washer and dryer for use. The hot water and the internet function very well. They've stocked the kitchen with the tools you'd need to make basic meals and there is a full size regfrigerator.
Cons: As with some other properties, the Airbnb camera lens makes this property a bit bigger in the pictures than it seems in real life. That said, its plenty of space for a couple or three friends travelling together. The linens and decor is a bit dated and I think it could be easily improved with a simple upgrade. One serious drawback was the loud construction noise that was coming from directly overhead as the floor above the apartment appears to be undergoing a complete overhaul. While construction is difficult to avoid nearly anywhere you go in Tel Aviv, a jackhammer over your head at 7am affects your vacation more than the hum of construction across the street. Would have appreciated some notice from the owners before I'd booked. Because of this I feel there are better values in the TLV rental market.
Unethical bullies...the nicest terms I have for Roey and Julie, after the way they treated my family.
They have positive reviews from people who stayed for a few days. But we stayed 3 months and learned how Roey behaves when things in his apartment go terribly wrong.
First, this place is NOT baby-safe. Loose, rotting, uneven stairs go down to it, with rusty nails in the walls. The staircase light won't go on at night, forcing us to navigate the baby carriage in the dark. (Roey tried to fix it once, then quit). The door light causes blackouts when it rains.
Inside: crooked shelves, crooked lampshades, an exposed wire, an upside down towel hook. A mirror almost landed on my baby girl when it fell off the wall. A heating system so confusing (Julie couldn't figure it out either) it forced us to buy our own heater .
We could have lived with these issues - we fixed one ourselves (stuffing paper into a hole in the window sill). But there was one disaster that happened after our first month, and more importantly, the way our hosts handled it, which ruined everything:
The sewage system erupted. Julie and a plumber extracted from the sewage outlet two garbage bags full of months of previous tenants' trash, feces, etc.
Julie blamed me, telling me she found baby wipes and diapers in the blockage. I told her that we don't throw those into the toilet - it would be sabotage, plus a diaper doesn't fit down a toilet. Julie repeated: stop throwing baby wipes and diapers into the toilet!
Later it happened again! The bathroom floor erupted with raw sewage. My wife snatched our baby daughter off the floor to save her from getting soaked.
Julie and the plumber removed a tiny amount of blockage. They told me they found baby wipes again. Roey emailed me: "We warned you"..."take responsibility"..."you better pay for both blockages".
Very suspicious at this point, my wife and I retrieved the plumber's haul from the garbage bin, rummaged through the contents and found feces and toilet paper but no baby wipes - because we don't throw baby wipes into the toilet, never mind doing it TWICE!
I invited Roey to come look at the evidence. He refused. I invited Julie and the plumber to look again, while I film them. They refused.
Julie then told Roey that I had seen the baby wipes with her. I told Roey that she was lying. He told me that by calling Julie a liar, I was taking him to a "very dark place". Ironically, he had no problem calling me a liar.
Had we stayed for a week, we would have written a glowing review. Instead, we stayed 86 days and learned that Roey's place is a disaster and their guests are nothing but suspects to be bullied when things go wrong. Roey changed from gracious host into our worst enemy at the press of a toilet's flusher.
Fantastic apartment! Really nice, perfect space to stay with a couple! All of the stuffs in the apartment are great! I strongly recomend this apartment for everyone!
The perfect location in Tel Aviv. We stayed at Roey's apartment for around a week, and found it to be exactly what we needed. Less then 10 min (walk) from the beautiful beach. 2 min from the high street with an array of good bars, coffee shops and bakeries (yes more then one to choose from).
The apartment is clean, cosy, well looked after and safe. Perfect for a couple. We made good use of he small privet garden after our morning runs ( with coffee and baked good from above mentioned spots).
Roey was helpful and made sure we had everything we needed, also suggesting places to eat, visit and shop.
All in all a great experience and we recommend it.

Raised in Jerusalem and currently living in Tel Aviv, I have found many homes abroad from my travels over the years. From California to Cuba, the Ukraine to the Dominican Republic, my experiences established a great foundation for my role as a host. Easy-going and attentive, I enjoy creating a true "home away from home" experience for my guests.
An avid traveler, I also enjoy cycling, surfing, and staying active with my spark-plug of a jack Russell terrier, Chief Chief. Looking forward to helping to make your visit to our magic city of Tel Aviv, whether your first or fifteenth, memorable, inspired and relaxing.
