First of all the house... what a find! A beautiful old building, very well renovated with tons of character and everything we needed. One highlight for us was the amazing roof terrace, we spent most of our time up there, watching great views of the sea, eating every day at the table under the pergola... Very quiet and peaceful. The kitchen on the ground floor was great, then up through the first bedroom to the top bedroom and terrace, quite steep steps so bear that in mind if you're less mobile, not a problem for us at all.
It's in a lovely old village, all tiny alleyways, whitewashed walls and seemingly not touristy at all. A couple of shops and restaurants (and sculpture museum!) very close, then a bigger supermarket, restaurants and shops down on the main road, five minutes walk. The nearest beachy bit is a twenty minute walk, several beaches to choose from, from very quiet (and sheltered) with boats to a bit more lively with bars!
Stratis is lovely, the perfect host, very helpful from the word go, perfect English spoken... he gives advice and lots of local pointers, and during our stay was right across the way in case we needed anything. It was a pleasure to meet him.
When you get there, bear in mind there are no cars up in the village proper, so you park or get off the bus at the windmills, then walk up to the house, a very short distance uphill.
Totally recommend this place, one of the best holidays we've had.
