I've never used AirBnb before, but I just had a Chicago wedding on NYE and needed a place for my bridal party to stay in the days prepping for the wedding. I found Stacey's place after a bit of search because it was in a central location between our church/morning reception and the evening reception we held downtown in Pilsen. Despite the cold and snow, the commute was super easy and manageable for all who stayed there.
Every girl in my bridal party raved about the Lawson-Barr home. It was perfect for our situation - more homey than a hotel, and definitely much more room and mirror space. Her neighborhood is beautiful safe and friendly. Stacey and her husband went above and beyond by treating us to some champagne and treats when arriving at the home. It was truly a huge wedding blessing, and I could not have expected more from this stay.
Stacey was extremely communicable beforehand, and the most hospitable with their space.
Thank you so much for blessing us with your home and quiet space Stacey! It took a huge housing logistical nightmare off our plates and allowed everyone to relax and get centered before our most important day!!
This charming old craftsman is relaxing, quiet, and completely comfortable. To top it off, it’s in pristine condition! The neighborhood is quiet and safe.
Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and the upstairs bath with its jacuzzi tub is the perfect way to prepare for a restful nights sleep on either of the extremely comfortable beds.
Stacy’s home was all we expected and more!
The house is beautiful and very very comfortable. We also really liked the neighborhood; there is a lot to do around town. We had a great stay. Thank you!!!
Stacey and Andy were great hosts. As in the description, their home really is gorgeous, while being very comfy as well. Our airbnb newbie friends were pleasantly surprised at the value, beauty, spaciousness, and amenities available, the 3bdrm/2ba configuration was just right for one couple and two singles. The location --- a quiet neighborhood three blocks from a Blue Line train station with garage parking(!) was spot on. With the picture perfect weather, we enjoyed breakfast on the back porch and lunch on the front porch. Stacey was a clear and responsive communicator from the beginning and laid out exactly all the parameters. They left snacks and bottles of wine to greet us. We also had permission to pick from their summer garden. Their cat, Linus, who hid under the bed initially, did respond well to 'catspeak' and warmed up to us and proved to be an amusing companion. We would heartily recommend the Barr’s house to anyone wanting a calming beautiful place to stay in the Chicago area.
Beautiful and charming home! Very safe residential neighborhood with friendly, helpful neighbors. Stacey and her husband had prepared everything meticulously--we felt very welcomed with a box of pastries from a local bakery and a bottle of wine left for us! The deck was my favorite spot for enjoying a morning coffee. The house is in walking distance to several restaurants, ice cream stands, and a CVS for incidentals. Quick trip into Chicago and a short walk to the L station. Beds were comfortable, plenty of pillows. The house was absolutely perfect for our trip to Chicago. We would definitely stay again.
