Very cute and cozy!
Mickie was a wonderful host. Her gypsy caravan was absolutely magical. It was clean & well maintained. The area was the perfect location, as well. I will definitely be visiting and staying in the caravan again soon! I highly recommend staying here!
My partner and I had a dream weekend in the Gypsy Caravan. It was a gorgeous environment, the interior was extremely cozy, and I particularly enjoyed taking baths in the glorious tub with the windows open so I could hear the birds chirping! We left feeling completely rejuvenated.
I loved staying in this caravan! I am travelling for 7 weeks around the USA on my own and this was a beautiful treat from hostels for a couple of nights. It was so beautiful inside and I just chilled out listening to music and catching up on my emails. The wifi didn't quite reach for my phone so I had to go outside to send things, but other than that it was perfect.
Staying in the airstream was such an amazing experience. I surprised my boyfriend with a trip to Austin for Christmas and when we arrive at the airstream he was just amazed that we were staying in such an awesome place. Mickie was great in answering all my questions and when e got there we ran into her and were able to say hello. Other than that she was great with giving us privacy while staying at her abode.
Next time we stay in Austin we will be staying here.

Had a great time in the Gypsy Caravan! My husband and I loved the decor and staying up late listening to music on the record player. Mickie did a great job renovating the airstream!
As everyone else has noted, this is a one of a kind accommodation that was quite amazing! My daughter and I had a fabulous time in Austin and our stay in the caravan was a perfect complement to everything else we did and saw. We loved it. We are in awe at how she transformed this trailer into such a quaint, cozy, quirky and comfortable space. It was very cold while we were in Austin (even freezing rain) but with the heaters on it was warm inside the trailer. We didn't have any drainage problems as mentioned previously but did find there wasn't enough hot water for a bath. Worked fine for a quick hand held shower. Its very private but if you are a light sleeper, bringing earplugs help with street noises. Mickey has a book with tips and suggestions for things to do and places to eat - we found her recommendations to be helpful - some great places to eat on that east side! I can't think of a better place to stay while in Austin - it simply captures the character of the city.
Great escape from the hustle and bustle of life! She has done an amazing job renovating the inside of this little airstream to be a wonderful, cozy, accommodating, place to stay. I will say that the pics on the website make it look a little bigger than it actually is, but it was a perfect fit for my wife and I. The bed was a little bit lumpy due to it being a fold out and the tub inside is best fit for bath taking, not shower taking but again not a big deal. Overall this is a great place to stay for two people looking to escape!
Mickie has done an amazing job turning an old airstream into a quirky, comfortable, uniquely Austin space. That said, if you book the caravan, be prepared for a rustic experience. The bathroom is full-size and well-appointed, which is unusual for an airstream, but neither the sink nor the tub drain well, which makes it hard to keep them clean, and there wasn't enough hot water for 2 of us to shower. Also, the bed seems to be a recycled sofa bed, with a hard metal bar running down the middle, and every time one of us moved the other thought they were going to be catapulted out the opposite side. We also had some trouble communicating with Mickie prior to our arrival - not sure if that was a technical issue, but a couple messages went unanswered. She was very pleasant when we met briefly, but the caravan seems better suited to very independent travelers. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it as noted above, and maybe when there's a higher likelihood of sun, to be able to fully enjoy the yard where the airstream is parked.
