Roberto was very nice host. From the time I came he and his tenant offered to feed me. They also helped me get oriented in a new place/town/country.
I was fortunate and privileged that Roberto was so kind and let me use his room which is bigger than the one that he has for rent. The room had attached bathroom which is modern and was very clean. There was always hot water in a shower and anywhere around the apartment. The view from the room is just PHENOMENAL!!! Whole apartment is very specious and I was offered use of all of it. There was a mutual respect in an apartment thus everybody could rest well. Kitchen has everything anyone would need to make a great meal (great quality dishes, appliances). I was very touched by how much Roberto cared about my well-being as when I didn’t come “home” in a “reasonable time” he became so worried that he called local police and American Embassy. When I showed up he was elated and of course relived, however of course I felt bad that he was worried but also felt “loved” and cared about
The neighborhood is very safe and it was easy getting public transportation to the any part of the town. Roberto made me feel at ease and very welcome in his beautiful home. Yesterday when I was leaving Roberto helped me with my EXTREMELY heavy bags and even has recruited one of his friends to help me as well. There was a problem with my ticket and Roberto “jumped in” and helped me fix the problem by translating for me. I am SO HAPPY that Roberto’s English is much better than my Spanish. I was very lucky meeting Robert. He was also very kind taking me “sightseeing” visiting place that I would have never found on my own. Roberto’s kindness was demonstrated yet again when he offered to keep one of my suitcases in his place while I travel around Bolivia thus not being burdened by extra weight :-)
