One of the best, most walkable locations in Charlotte! Convenient ground-floor apartment with reserved, off-street parking.
Located on a quiet, tree-lined residential street in the Historic District of Dilworth, 1.5 miles from the central business district (Uptown), you'll be able to walk to 3 parks, two full-service grocery stores, a health-food market, 40+ restaurants (including raw/vegan, Indian, 3 Thai restaurants, Italian, burgers/pizza, sushi, etc.) wine shop, wine bar, yoga and massage studios, coffee shops, art galleries, consignment shops, neighborhood pubs and other amenities.
A transit stop 1/2 block away provides bus service directly to Uptown and SouthPark (upscale shopping) every 15 minutes. The light rail stop to Uptown is only a 15-minute walk away. Carolinas Medical Center is 4 minutes away by car, or an easy 15-20 minute walk.
This super-comfortable, spotlessly clean, quiet, two-bedroom apartment is in a historic 8-plex apartment building that we own, built in 1920, and has been completely remodeled with attention to all the details. High ceilings, refinished original hardwood floors, original 2-panel doors with glass door knobs help the apartment maintain its original character. It is furnished in an updated traditional style with modern flair, with an emphasis on comfort.
Perhaps the best feature is the large private screened porch, which provides a comfortable outdoor living and dining area to take advantage of Charlotte's wonderful climate, whether for breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. There is a shared rear garden with a gas grill and outdoor dining for your use as well.
We've recently undertaken a complete GREEN renovation on the building, including dual- pane windows, high efficiency HVAC, energy efficient lighting, dual-flush toilets, ceiling fans, tankless water heaters and new insulation for comfort.
In the fully-equipped kitchen there are brand new cabinets, quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range and refrigerator with ice maker. A washer and dryer are also included in the apartment for your use. There is a desk, wifi, and a small stereo cd player with a place for your Ipod or MP3 player, a large flat screen television in the living room. There are also flatscreen televisions in both bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a King bed with 400 thread count sheets and the second bedroom has two twin beds. All bedding and mattresses are new.
The grounds are well-landscaped with native and drought tolerant plantings.
Most of our guests are repeat clients who book in advance, so please book early. We think we've thought of everything you'll need for your visit, but if not, we live right around the corner so can help with anything you might need. The apartment comes stocked with a complimentary assortment of food, snacks, wine, etc.
I'm a native Charlottean, so am happy to provide any help during your stay, including restaurant suggestions, art openings, events, etc. Just ask! You'll love living like a local. We look forward to hosting you.

Ive stayed with Jim and James before and it was just as warm and enjoyable as the first time. Nice comfy furnishings, convenient location and wonderful hospitality!
I stayed at Jim & James' apartment on Magnolia with several colleagues for a Genetics Conference at the Convention Center.
Our experience was superb! Jim & James are thoughtful hosts. The apartment was lovely and the snacks, wine, and amenities were very much appreciated.
This is a great alternative to any of the major hotels in the area. Public transportation was a breeze!
Perfect place for New Years with friends! The apartment was gorgeous, loved the furniture, and loved the wine Jim and James left for us. So generous!! The grocery store is within walking distance, as is a pub which hosted a trivia night while we were down. Jim and James left us with a great place to stay in a fantastic neighborhood--almost made me want to move to Charlotte!!
A great apartment in a great location with thoughtful hosts. This was a great home for my family. I could not have asked for more.
The apartment was perfect and Jim and James were unbelievably kind and helpful in making our stay comfortable and fun.
In town for work for the month of August, I brought my wife and two boys (5 years and 5 months). Jim and James had a changing table, crib, Pac N Play and toys ready and waiting. Whenever we had questions about things to do, restaurants, doctors, etc., they were right on the money with their recommendations.
The apartment is located in a beautiful neighborhood, walking distance to everything you need. And if you want to head downtown for more entertainment and adventure, you can easily walk to the station and hop on the train for a short ride. Biking it downtown would also not be a problem.
So go ahead and book your stay, you won't be disappointed. We'll be back.
