This house was the right place for us! Spacious, and a nice fireplace. Quiet, rural, cows and donkeys nearby and wonderful views. Eneko is very friendly and quick and easy in to communicate with.

We stayed in Mote for 2 weeks with our 2 young children and it was fabulous. It's a great location from which to visit the Basque Coast - pretty much equidistant from Bilbao and San Sebastián, and an easy drive from each. And there are lots of other great little towns within easy driving distance. The house itself is lovely. Incredibly peaceful, spacious and comfortable. It's the perfect place to really experience the beautiful Basque countryside, while being within easy striking distance of several good beaches. Eneko was a really good host. Responded very quickly to all communication. He met us to check in and the process was very smooth. I would highly recommend this house!

We spent a month at Mote with our three children. We absolutely loved it. The house is great, the landscape and views are lovely and the town is fun and charming. We felt very welcome and enjoyed our time in Basque country.

Eneko was very kind and helpful and the house really is beautiful. It was clean and well done. It is quite remote, and as stated, this is a farm house in the country. It is up in the hills, the roads are paved and nice but steep and very dark at night. It is easy to get lost up there, gps was helpful and the nearest neighbors were super kind. We are a group of city slickers, so for us this was a real adventure. When the listing says farm house, they actually mean it as there are cows. We didn't see these cows up close but apparently, the cows had just been "emptied" as Eneko put it, right before our arrival. I am still not sure what exactly was "emptied" - my Spanish is terrible. Eneko's English was good but something was lost in translation here. The stench inside the house on the main floor from "the emptying" was difficult to deal with our first night there. The smell, though greatly lessened, lingered the following days in the living room. This was in no way Eneko's fault, it was bad timing and he was very apologetic about it. His wife's uncle lives on the property and he is in charge of the cows. Eneko was visibly concerned about the smell and gave us a large package of incense to burn and we lit the fire that first night too. The views from the house are beautiful, and Eneko was available by email with prompt replies when we had any questions.

Response from Eneko:

We had a very nice time with the four of us (two adults and two children). The house is big, with two big bathrooms upstairs). We especially liked the sleeping rooms and the fresh air. At night it is dark around and you can hear the owls. We spend most of the day elsewhere, but in the area around the house is plenty to do (except shopping). Nice villages and lots of opportunities to walk. The house is not so far from Mutriku, but we always took care to arrive before dark as the road to the house is a steep. It is still very accesible, especially once you get to know the way.

Amazing house, beautifully renovated. The master bedroom is much bigger and nicer than the photos let on, as are the views (not to mention the enormous bathtub!). The house is very remote, and you need to drive down a pretty steep hill to get into town. Perfect for a proper get-away-from-it-all holiday.
