Our house is located in the mountains between Perugia and Spoleto.
You are welcome to rent a room (see price description), or the whole house (400 euros/week or 1000 euros/month).
Self-service breakfast is included (coffee, tea, homemade cakes and yogurt, cereal, fruit, eggs, toast). If you would like to eat dinner together we're more than happy to cook, and would appreciate a supplemental contribution of 10 euros to cover the cost.
The main house consists of: kitchen/living room with dining table, fold-out couch, and wood-burning fireplace; a living room/office with large furnished balcony that looks onto the valley (approx. 8 x 11 feet); two bedrooms each with queen bed, and 1 full bathroom. Two separate apartments (bedrooms only, one with kitchenette) are located on the lower level, as well as a spacious storage room for wood, bikes or other sports equipment.
Two bikes (1 small-medium mountain bike, and 1 small-medium racing bike) are available for use.
The garden area includes two 200-year-old grape vines, which produce a canopy of leaves and grapes over the entrance to the garden from April-November. there is also a free-standing wood burning pizza oven next to the garden. You are welcome to tend to and/or eat from our vegetable patch, which includes tomatoes, zucchinis, eggplants, onions, green beans, lettuce, chilli peppers, swiss chard, cucumbers, zucchini flowers, melons, and a variety of herbs depending on the season.
We are located in the beautiful Valnerina Valley, an ideal location from which to tour the medieval hill towns of Umbria and Tuscany. We're close to the Ferentillo climbing rock face, the Marmore waterfalls, several bike paths and downhill ski areas (winter only). Cross-country skiers can ski right from the front door and down into the valley. We are also driving/train distance from the cities of Perugia (40 min), Spoleto (30 min) Rome (1 hour 20 min), Ascoli-Piceno (40 min), l'Aquila (40 min), and Florence (2 hours) as well as several lakes and national parks.
We are happy to let our guests have their own space, but if you are interested we would be delighted to share some meals and get to know you.
No public transportation comes into our town. Guests planning daytrips elsewhere will need their own vehicle. Otherwise you are welcome to use our bikes to ride to the nearest bus stop (here the inter-province coaches stop, with direct connections to Rome, Perugia, and the Spoleto train station). It only takes 10 minutes to get there from our house, BUT it takes an hour to get back afterwards (downhill versus uphill).
