The Space

Beach-side, easy living in the Outer Sunset of San Francisco. One of the most underrated but best kept secrets of the city. We have a 3 bedroom well-appointed home ready for your bags, your plans, and your tired bones at the end of the day.

Our place sleeps 6 people comfortably with 2 full bathrooms to keep you tidy. We provide all bed and bath linens and free washer/dryer. We have a newly renovated kitchen with professional appliances including dishwasher, coffee maker, and microwave. Everything you’ll need to start your day off right and end it even better. Just 6 FUN blocks from Ocean Beach and its beautiful waves, dunes, and sunsets. And, heading North out the front door, we are only 6 blocks to Golden Gate Park's trees, windmills, summer concerts, and it's tasty brewery....ahhh. You can even hop on Highway 1 in 2 minutes and just drive. A surfer's beach combers paradise.

Our backyard is cozy and calm. Great for book reading, sun lounging, and good old libations. You'll be right down the street from a well-stocked organic supermarket, a coffee shop/wine bar with live music (currently undergoing renovations almost done), renowned local bakery, friendly Irish bar, and surf shops/ artisan galleries galore. Heck you could stay here for weeks and never have to go farther than 6 blocks for a great time.

Other amenities include: Wireless high speed internet, Direct TV, Hand crafted office desk with monitor and office chair, new appliances and plenty of easy off or on street parking. Backyard propane Grill or good old fashioned BBQ. Great restaurants abound Chinese, Indian, Korean, Thai, Mexican, pizza, Vegan, you get the idea. We are also 1 minute away from the 16BX or 71 Muni bus line which goes downtown on a regular basis or about a 5 minute walk to the N-Judah street car also going downtown all night long. Baseball at AT&T park is just a fun N-Judah ride away.

Thanks for checking our place out if it’s not your cup of tea we wish you happy trails !

  • Spacious, beach-y getaway that offers a direct MUNI line into downtown San Fran, surfer vibes, and the sweetest little backyard. Heather and Wendy were great to communicate with: polite, professional, and accommodating. Five of us stayed here over a Pride weekend and would do so again. Lots of room for relaxing, well-stocked kitchen for meals at home, delicious cafes and groceries nearby, and the beach just a short stroll away. Be prepared for foggy mornings and nights, but when the sun's out - you won't want to leave.

  • Thank you Heather & Wendy! Heather and Wendy were very quick with their response. The house was lovely, even better than the pictures. The house was decorated very elegant, cozy; it was also spotless.
The kitchen was stocked with coffee for the morning, we were able to use the washer and dryer as well.
The location is about 25-30 mins from Fisherman's Wharf and very convenient.
We enjoyed our trip very much, thanks to the super super comfortable lodging!!!
    Thanks a gain!

  • This house was perfect! There were 6 adults total in our party and it was very roomy and spacious. You never felt cramped! The layout was great and the secluded master suite in the back of the house was a nice touch.

The location was just as perfect. Only a five minute walk to the beach! Plus it didn't take long to drive anywhere you wanted in the city. Ample parking along the street so you never had to worry about finding a spot!

All in all, this was ten times better than a hotel and we will definitely stay here again!

  • Place was great. Just as pictured. Plenty of room for six people. Lots of living space too including nice back patio. Parking right in front of the house. Location was convenient to the beach, Zoo, and Golden Gate Park. A bit away from downtown but still easy to get into the City. Hosts were very quick to respond and provide all the needed info. Would definitely recommend.

  • We had a wonderful time. The house was fully equipped with anything we could need. The neighborhood was peaceful and within walking distance of the water. The private back yard is a delightful feature. The only down side was having to leave.

  • We definitely enjoyed our stay at Heather and Wendy's place. Loved the fact that we weren't too close or too far from all the hustle and bustle of the city. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops. We went for morning runs to the beach which was a definite plus. Didn't have to worry about parking when coming home. There place is really warm and welcoming. It has all the comforts of home. Highly recommend this cozy get away. Would definitely stay there again.

  • We stayed three months in Heather's and Wendy's house (January-March). Lovely weather, sunny and warm. Got a winter tan from drinking tea on the back deck. Perfect location so close to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed that. A couple of nice natural food stores in walking distance. Functional house with the sleeping quarters separate from the kitchen and living room. Very responsive owners and such a helpful cleaning lady! Parking in the driveway with a minivan - a dream in San Francisco. Plenty of free closet space and walk-in closets a big plus for a longer stay.

The stairs did not pose any issue for our 2-year-old, but with a 1-year-old a safety gate might be good to bring. If exploring downtown is the main objective, then it's worth knowing that it takes a while to get there from this location.

We would be happy to recommend Heather's and Wendy's place in the Outside Lands, and would stay again. We felt right at home. Big thanks!

  • We were delighted with our 3 night stay here. Spotlessly clean, a complimentary supply of coffee, very professional and prompt communication before our arrival, and no issues arose after we arrived. Although farther than we would have liked from downtown SF (about 30 minutes by car to the financial district), we would consider staying here again for the quiet and proximity to the beach.

  • Heather and Wendy have a beautiful place located in the quiet sunset area of San Francisco. It's just 10min walk to the beach. The place was well furnished and the kitchen was a charm to use. The room at the back was huge and spacious and the 2 rooms at the front were sufficient! House heating wasn't quite working well for us but it was still a great stay nonetheless! Would definitely recommend this place for a quiet getaway from the bustling city!

Airbnb is a little new to us so more to come as we get used to the water. We love our neighborhood and our neighbors are very special people to us. For us its great knowing that while we are elsewhere, someone is making good use of our home as base camp for exploring San Francisco. We've been in the city for 15+ years and this neighborhood is by far the best we've lived in. The site suggested we tell you 5 things we can't live goes: each other and each others families (thats #1) , booze (all kinds thats #2 ) friends (#3), bread and cheese which takes us up to #5. Hope you enjoy our home and our surroundings as much as we do! Have Fun!
