Description

The Space

THE HOUSE
1200-square-foot ground-floor flat (in a two unit building) close to Market and Sanchez. Completely renovated/modernized with hardwood and tile floors, gourmet kitchen, granite counters, stainless appliances, gas stove, glass-walled dining room overlooking large back yard, high ceilings, Jacuzzi tub, recessed dimmable lighting, wood-burning fireplace, comfy and stylish furniture, flatscreen TV, stereo, gas BBQ in the back yard and a washer/dryer in basement. The sunny landscaped back yard is as big as the house and so quiet you wouldn't know you were in the city.

THE BEDROOM
Bedroom is 10 x 12' with curtained French doors that open to living room. Good sized closet. Bed is full-size with a mattress and box spring. The shared bath is a large marble bathroom with deep Jacuzzi tub and shower.

Guest Access

You have full access to the kitchen and all appliances. Feel free to store food and beverages in the refrigerator, cook meals, and enjoy the space.

Interaction with Guests

Renee works from home, and she's usually up for a chat over coffee in the morning. We love to cook and often share a meal or two with guests, and we're always happy to make recommendations for activities, bars, and neighborhoods. The layout of the house makes privacy quite easy to come by, as well.

The Neighborhood

The flat is located at the eastern edge of the Castro District, just a few blocks uphill from the Mission district. Dozens of the city's finest bars and restaurants are within a ten minute walk, and there are Chinese, Indian, and California-Asian fusion restaurants within one block. You can walk to the Castro Theater in 10 minutes.

Getting Around

We are a few blocks from the Church Street MUNI station and a 10-15 minute walk from the 16th and Mission BART station. In addition, you can walk less than a block to Market Street, where it's easy to hail a cab.

Other Things to Note

There is no reserved parking for the flat. There is street parking, but before 7:00 PM you need to move your car every couple of hours or risk a ticket. If you will be driving around during the day this isn't an issue. But since public transit is excellent in the neighborhood, I strongly advise you to put your car in a parking lot and leave it there until you leave town.
