  • We stayed in this two bedroom apartment for 8 days in March 2014. This review will cover both the pros and cons of the apartment and location.

    The location is within walking distance to downtown Menlo Park. There is plenty of shopping for groceries, coffee houses and restaurants to choose from. This is not an inexpensive area, but it is enjoyable and convenient. The apartment is small and clean. The furniture is inexpensive but serviceable for short stays. The water pressure is good including the shower. The kitchen includes what is needed to prepare normal meals.

    The management company appears to prefer longer term rentals than 8 days. Immediately after confirming the reservation with Airbnb, the property manager sent us a 16 page lease agreement. This was not included in the ad on Airbnb and we told the property manager that we would not sign the lease. The property manager also requires that you provide proof of rental insurance. While this was unusual and a bit time consuming, the Farmers agent made it less painful and we spent about $20 for 8 days. This is just another example that the property manager does not want short term stays.

    Regarding the apartment specifically. The electrical outlets for the TV and comcast cable box had very loose plugs. The electrical plugs continually fell out of the sockets and the TV would turn off. This meant that we had to go behind the TV and fiddle with the connection to make it work. The property manager was not able to provide the wireless SSID or the password, but told us that it was on the bottom of the Comcast modem. I must be too old as my eyes could not read the small print on the bottom of the modem and we needed to purchase a magnifying glass in order to make the wireless work.

    Overall I think we were a little disturbed by the immediate request to sign a 16 page lease with a $2,000 deposit and never really recovered enough to feel comfortable with this property manager. In the future, we will make sure that there are plenty of positive reviews before booking a stay. This is not a bad apartment and it has a great location.

  • During a trip that was riddled with complications (one of them with a different airbnb host), JT coordinated a last minute stay at the Meadows for the remaining three days of our trip. The end of our visit to Silicon Valley ended on a high note at their apartment during a very stressful time. Thank you to JT and to airbnb for being extremely accommodating!

    Renter is very fast at replying and tries to work with you. Does require a little more paper work then others, but made it very easy to do.

  • The apartment is beautiful and conveniently located. The unit we rented is close to the pool, and surrounded by Japanese style garden and big red wood trees. It is very relaxing to stay. The leasing office people are very friendly as well. We enjoyed it very much. Josh is a very caring host. He responded and accommodated to our needs really fast. I strongly recommend this place for your stay.
