The Space

You'll have your own private bedroom with a private bath on the 2nd floor of my 5 year old home. Convenient to downtown, safe, clean and comfortable. My home is well decorated, modern, and close to EVERYTHING!

I am looking forward to having you stay in my home. When you are one of my guests, you are part of the house and part of the family. No security deposit. No cleaning fees. I just ask that you take care of my house while you're here and we'll get along just fine!!

I have a small 16lb. Jack Russell Terrier that is quiet and stays in her crate. She's a cutie. Almost everybody that meets her wants to abduct her and put her in their suitcases.

Guest Access

Free wireless internet, coffee/tea/drinks/snacks and HDTV with Apple TV provided. When I can accommodate (especially for international guests that arrive at Nashville International Airport), I'm happy to give free rides to downtown or the airport. I also provide hotel toiletries in sample sizes and towels and fresh linens for your bed during your stay.

Interaction with Guests

My guests are my friends. Hosting on airBnB has been such a blessing to me. I love it!

You'll have your own key to the house once you check-in. When you arrive, i'll help you get your bags, park, and catch your breath. Once we get a chance to say hello, i'l take you up to the room, give you the wireless key for your tablet, laptop, or mobile phone.

Come and go, as much as you'd like--late or early. You're welcome to hang out with me and my friends if you'd like. I've taken guests to the bar with my buddies. I've tagged along with them. We often go to dinner together. I love getting to know my guests! That's the main reason I host. If you're new to the South, don't be shocked by my kindness. I'm from Alabama and we treat guests like family where I come from.

I have developed a 20 minute tour [by car] of the downtown area to highlight key places and areas you might want to visit while on your stay. This is obviously up to your discretion ( and my availability), but I am more than happy to do this. Of course, it is complimentary and just an added perk that you can enjoy by staying with me in my home during your visit to Nashville!

The Neighborhood

Nashville's diverse dining, entertainment, and cultural events at your doorstep, the Germantown neighborhood is the perfect location for guests visiting Nashville. Germantown was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and contains beautifully diverse architecture spanning from the early 1800s to present. This close-knit community features unique events such as the annual Oktoberfest Street Festival, Farmer's Market, as well as regular concerts and music festivals. The Germantown neighborhood also offers easy freeway access, as well as access to the Cumberland River Greenway and Downtown nightlife.

The area my home is in is called the Capitol District. Why? It sits in the shadow of the Tennessee Capitol Building, the seat of our State government. You can look the area up on (website hidden) if you want more information. It is truly a wonderful area, and its undergoing an amazing renaissance that will bring even more amazing bars and restaurants, housing options, and outdoor spaces to live, work and play. It's one of Nashville's hottest areas in which to live.

Getting around

If you're visiting Nashville from outside of the U.S. (and pending my availability), I always like to either pick you up from the airport or take you to the airport on your way out of town. I have my own business, so I have a flexible schedule. I try to be as available as I can be, so i'll absolutely offer rides or activities that you can participate in with me and my friends whenever possible!

Ask me for guidance on the best ways to get around town. It's 0.7 miles to Broadway, 1 mile to the Titans Stadium, and Gulch bars and restaurants. 1.3 miles to Music City Convention Center. $5-6 cab ride home from the bars on Broadway. $25 cab fare to the airport.

We have UBER and Lyft in Nashville. They are ride sharing services that are to cabs what airBnB is to hotels. If you're not from the area, they often have promo codes that will give you free credits for getting around when you're in town because you're new to the service. You won't have any problem getting around town, I promise!

Check In
  • Our stay was okay. To try and keep the review brief, I'll bulletize everything:
    - Trip details: 4th of July weekend (Thursday - Sunday). Arrived Thursday late (after 10 p.m.)
    - Would we stay again?: Probably not
    - Likes: budget-friendly, bathroom is connected to the bedroom, walking distance to Germantown and a bicentennial park (also downtown if you have enough time), nice immediate neighborhood, quiet & polite host
    - Dislikes: not a queen-sized bed (perhaps a double?), towels smelled like they weren't fully dried before folding, found little bits of something on the fitted sheet on our first night (not sure what it was but it was like eraser shavings).
    - Recommendations if you stay here: rent a car or budget for a cab if you want to go to downtown after dark. Our car rental was just over $50 total for Thursday night through Sunday afternoon.

  • Our visit to Nashville was short and sweet. Unfortunately we didn't have time to take Michael's kind offer of giving us a tour of Nashville but he went out of his way to make us comfortable. And Alice (the dog) was a real sweetheart too.

  • My best friend, Sarah, and I had a wonderful 3 day stay with Michael in Nashville. His home was very comfortable, welcoming, and clean. The location was ideal to access all of Nashville. The neighborhood was quiet and relaxing. Michael was very helpful in answering questions about walking to restaurants and downtown locations. His cute dog, Alice, greeted us every day too. I would recommend his home to other airbnb guests who want to visit Nashville.

  • My friend and I had a great time at Michael's place. The room was clean and was ready for us when we arrived. His dog, Alice, was the sweetest thing. She was my favorite part of the stay! I would definitely book again if I ever need a place to stay in Nashville!

  • Perfect stay in a perfect City at a very friendly guy. Michael is courteous and helpful and made with us a tour on his car through Nashville. We would definitely recommend his place.
The taxi from Broadway to his house is about 6-8 bugs.

  • We arrived in Nashville early afternoon. The house is easy to find and in a safe and comfortable neighbourhood. Michael is a congenial and very helpful host and immediately gave us a quick tour of Nashville to familiarise ourselves with the area. He is easy to approach, communicate with and contact. The house is spotless and has everything you'd need for a crash pad. Staying here made you feel really part of a house share and not like you were intruding too much. Little Alice the dog was our constant companion whenever we were in the house, and she was almost smuggled out with us. She gave myself and my companion some much missed canine love. Loved Nashville and loved the house and our great host. Will be back :)

  • We had a great stay with Michael, and he was warm and accommodating. He provided many great recommendations, and even kindly drove us into town when he was available. It's only a $5 taxi to the city, and very convenient location.
He was easy to communicate with, and very easy going. His dog, Alice, was the highlight for sure! She's amazing.
The house was nice, and the room was exactly what we needed. It was air conditioned, with ample toiletries, coffee, etc.
We were told by a few taxi drivers that the area was "up and coming" and not the safest to walk alone in at night. We kept that in mind, but didn't experience any issues walking around the neighbourhood during the day.
All in all, a great stay!

  • The room was spotless and Michael was a very nice and welcoming guest. We stayed two nights with him: although he was not in town the first day, he made arrangements for us and was very accomodative about when we could arrive. When we came back after a trip to Memphis, we finally had a chance to meet him and he went far beyond what could be expected, tooking us in his pickup for a tour of the city which we really appreciated. He is also very knowledgable about Nashville, and gave us precious advice on bars/restaurants.
The neighborhood might be easier to navigate from with a car, but we were able to do quite a lot of things using public buses that stop a few blocks away. All in all, i would recommend staying there.

  • Michael (email hidden). My girlfriend and I arrived very early and Michael still accommodated us with no issue. Michael took us on a very cool tour of Nashville and taught us a lot about its history. Michael has the cutest dog ever and a very nice private room and bathroom. His apartment was also very clean and nice. Michael recommended a great dinner place were I had the best steak of my entire grown man life. I would love to (email hidden) again.

I'm a 31 year old guy living in Nashville, TN. I built my house downtown 6 years ago, close to downtown and the bars/nightlife. I've had around 150 airBnB guests since April 2013, so i've gotten the hang of things and think i've got things set up nicely. I know that if you come stay the night, you'll have a wonderful time in Nashville, and at my house as your home base. I'm well connected to the nightlife and social scene here in town, so i'd be happy to point you to places i'd go or you could always hang out with me and my buddies when we head out. Hands down—airBnB is one of the best things i've added to my life in recent years. I've stayed as a guest and i'm an experienced host. What an amazing experience it has been.
