Check In
  • Just as before, Trudy was a wonderful host to me & our family. The bungalow is so perfect for relaxing, reading, sitting out by the fish pond under the trees or hanging out on the porch with others. The bungalow is fully equipped with everything you need.
With having 2 of our children living in Austin, it gives us a place of our own while we are there visiting them. This last visit was for the MS 150!
We hope to return often. It feels much like home to us when we are there.

  • Definitely recommend!!! The place was clean and had more amenities than we had expected, very private and decorated to perfection !! Will definitely be staying here again!!!
Only regret is that we wished we had stayed there longer :)

  • A friend and I made a last minute trip to Austin, and Trudy's Cherrywood Bungalow was a perfect retreat for the night. The bungalow was clean and cozy, and Trudy was friendly and accommodating. We jogged around the neighbor and grabbed coffee and smoothies at a coffee shop within walking distance from Trudy's home. We were only a short drive from everything we wanted to do in Austin, so I highly recommend the location. We certainly hope to stay here again!

  • This bungalow was everything the pictures said and more. I loved this space my only regret was that I didn't get to stay longer. Once I checked in I didn't leave till check out. She has done a wonderful job creating a paradise in the middle of the suburbs and has anticipated every need I would have had during my stay, I could not have asked for more. She was very welcoming and left me to my privacy which I highly appreciated. I can't wait to come back!

  • Just perfect! We loved staying at the bungalow -- charming, impeccably clean and surprisingly spacious with lots of light. We also enjoyed the private garden space with the goldfish pond.

  • Great place to stay in the city . The sound of the little waterfall of the fish pond really makes it nice. Trudy makes a great use of space and we were very comfortable. My daughter and I used this as home base to visit Austin for our first time. We did have a car and this location made it very quick and easy to see the sights. Traffic is minimal except during rush hour and even very manageable. There are many bus stops nearby as well.
An oasis to retreat to after a day of traveling was great. It is very clean and the little heater worked great on cooler mornings to take the chill off. I take one star off only for the sound of the freight train in the middle of the night ( It goes quick but if you have trouble falling back asleep I would be cautious) This bungalow is just that - great space to spend some time in !!!

  • The cottage in the back was tastefully designed and had all the amenities necessary for our stay. For the most part it was very quiet; the train that ran behind the property was hardly noticeable. We loved the Cherrywood Cafe a block's walk away. I would definitely stay there again.

  • LOVED TRUDY'S BUNGALOW! My husband, 6 mo. old and I recently stayed here for a friend's wedding and we wanted something more private than a hotel room since my son is still so young I didn't want to disturb people if he cried. The bungalow was so clean and well decorated! The claw footed tub called my name immediately and within 30 minutes I was relaxing in it! The bed was comfortable and Trudy really thought of everything from the wifi and DVR TV, to the lighting and appropriate outlet placement. The kitchen is adorable and she had free coffee with creamer in the fridge! I will DEFINITELY be staying here again when I return to Austin.

  • My girlfriend and I stayed at the Cherrywood Bungalow for our first trip to Austin, and the experience could not have been more sensational. Trudy made sure every inch of the place was suited for a comfortable and enjoyable stay with everything we could possibly need, and we were just down the street from great food, grocery stores, and a coffee shop that puts Starbucks to shame. Additionally, the area felt quite safe, even as we walked back from the bus stop after a night downtown, and there is plenty of privacy in the porch/pond area. Overall, I felt we could not have had a better trip to Austin, and we would happily stay at the bungalow again for our next visit!

  • Had a great time at Trudy's bungalow - an adorable, cozy space in a great part of Austin. Loved the clawfoot tub and falling asleep to the soothing sounds of the backyard fountain!

East Side Showroom
Hi I'm Trudy. I am a fifth generation Texan, originally from San Antonio and I've lived in Austin for about 5 years now. I live in the front house. I own and manage, with my daughters, the East Side Showroom. Which is a farm to table restaurant with craft cocktails, live music, silent movies and very eclectic decor. My twin daughters and I love design and architecture. One daughter lives part time here with me, and did most of the design of the bungalow. She lives part time in Guanajuato, Mexico, where she has a vacation rental that she designed and built from scratch. The other daughter has an airstream vacation rental here in Austin as well as several restaurants and a bar that she decorated and built-out. I love living in Austin, there are local urban farms and farmers markets, film studios, urban drive-in theaters, theaters (both live and film) that you can eat, drink and be a part of, tour a film studio, go dancing, go to the roller derby, go to a nudist park, golf, go swimming or toobing in spring fed pools, listen to live music, eat great food and drink awesome cocktails, local wines and local beers, go see the Texas State Capital, history museums, art museums, parks and nature trails...well you name it and I think I can "hook you up" with lots of cool places to check out during your stay!
