An 800 square foot cottage apartment that is quiet, scenic, and beautiful. It's a private space and yet in minutes you are at some of the best restaurants in some of the greatest neighborhoods Portland has to offer.

The Space

Located in one of Portland’s most desired neighborhoods, this cottage inspired space is perfect for anyone wanting to explore the best that the city has to offer. This apartment features a private entrance to the lower level of a single family home where you will have 800 sqft to call your own. You’ll have your own kitchen, laundry room, full bathroom, large master bedroom and living room with a fireplace. And the technology is here too with free WIFI access and an Apple TV that is always streaming Netflix and Hulu Plus along with movies using your Apple ID.

(We have a second bedroom area that is well suited for children. We have a twin bed in this room and arraignments can be made to set up the room for more than one child.)

Home is on a quiet dead-end street and is a five-minute walk to excellent restaurants and coffee shops and is a longer walk or quick car or transit ride to the Hawthorne neighborhood. Interested in a walk, run, bike ride or picnic? The entrance to Mt. Tabor Park is three blocks from the apartment. The apartment can hold four guests; we have one queen bed and accommodations can be added to the living room for two more guests.

About Us

We have lived in Portland our entire lives and absolutely love everything the city has to offer. We love running, hiking, cycling, skiing, fly fishing and eating so if you need any recommendations or help, we are more than happy to assist you in any way we can. We also value your privacy so if you don’t need anything from us, relax and enjoy the quiet surrounding.

Guest Access

We will meet you at the apartment to exchange keys and help provide any direction or helpful tips for your stay.

Interaction with Guests

We're pretty available to help with anything our guests need but also very much respect your privacy. Really it will be up to you. If you don't need anything you won't see us after the exchange of keys, but if you need some direction we're here to help. For guests staying longer than 2 weeks, I will also set a time that is convenient to clean the apartment. It's good for you (because we'll clean it up) but it also helps us stay on top of things as we usually have guests checking out and checking in on the same day.

The Neighborhood

The best part about our neighborhood is how quiet it is and how close it is to all of the great neighborhoods on the Eastside of the city. We are two blocks away from Mt. Tabor, which is one of the best city parks around. You will have a sense of being up in the forest while still having breathtaking views of Mt. Hood to the east, downtown Portland to the west and the Gorge foothills to the north.

We are right above the Montavilla neighborhood which has some really great restaurants and excellent beer and spirit opportunities. A five minute walk drops your right in the heart of Montavilla so you don't have to go far to experience some of the best of what Portland has to offer. And, don't forget about the Montavilla Farmers Market... It's one of our favorites!

Getting around

Getting around from our cottage inspired apartment is quite easy. The 15 bus line is two blocks from the apartment takes you through some of the best neighborhoods on the Eastside while dropping you off at the border of the Pearl, Downtown, 23rd Ave and Forest Park. Truly, it doesn't get much better.

Driving is pretty easy here in Portland as well. If you bring your own car, we have ample street parking but we also have Car2Go here in Portland. Walk to a car, pick it up, drive where you want to go within the Portland boundary, park it on a public street, (for free) and you're done. When you want to come back, just repeat, (gas is paid for as well).

If you are a fan of cycling, we are near a few major bike boulevards, meaning traffic is light and the speed limit is 20 MPH. These streets will take you all over Portland safely, quickly and pretty quietly as well.

Other Things to Note

We will do anything to make your stay a comfortable one. In the winter I stock the apartment with Juniper in the wood burning fireplace and we always try to leave a few fun things for our guests to welcome them to Portland.

  • This was a great apartment. The neighborhood was great and Adam was great also. I would stay here again if visiting the Portland area. If we needed anything Adam was there to get it. Over all Awesome place

  • We loved staying at Adam's cottage. The large park nearby was fantastic and we took advantage of it almost every day. Nearby shops were great too and overall, just had a great experience.

  • Great place, very spacious with all the amenities you'd want. Lovely quiet neighborhood just a short walk from wonderful Mr Tabor Park. Host was a gracious and responsive.

  • My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Adam's Mt. Tabor apartment. The place is much larger in person than I thought it would be and included all the amenities of a comfortable home: laundry, bathroom, TV, fireplace, full kitchen, dining, 2 bedrooms and plenty of parking.

Adam was an excellent host. He gave us lots of tips/suggestions and kept us in the loop when there was a drinking water incident in Portland. It was thoughtful of him to stock our fridge with water bottles during the incident. He was very accessible and responded promptly to both email and phone calls. I'd definitely recommend his home to others that are looking for a comfortable stay in Portland.

  • From the start of our trip Adam could not have been more helpful. Whatever recommendations we asked for were spot on and wonderful.

The cottage is perfect and has everything you need. It is super clean and nicely furnished and very quiet. My husband and I joked that we have not slept so well in a long time! Our daughter also had a great time and the cottage is pretty baby proofed which is good.

We would definitely recommend this location for a great stay and it was so close to Mt. Tabor which was beautiful!

    Thank you!
    Ellen

  • Our stay at the "Salmon Suite" could hardly have been any better. The place was cozy. Adam and Elissa were responsive to needs. Plenty of closet space, an adequate kitchen, comfy living room, and much more. We will be back. We were really blown away with this place. Close to public transportation in a beautiful neighborhood.

  • Adam was a great host and his place offered a wonderful stay for my family. Even though our flight was delayed and we arrived much later than anticipated it didn't seem to be an issue. He met us upon arrival and showed us around. The apartment was clean and spacious and had plenty of space for my 2yr old son to run around. The bed was extremely comfortable (a big plus) and he had coffee and beer ready and waiting... what more can you ask for? All-in-all my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time and we highly recommend Adam's place for anyone looking for a nice, relaxing stay while in Portland.

  • We had a great stay at Adam's home near mt. tabor. The cottage is very spacious and has everything you needed - including a welcome bottle of wine! This is a perfect choice for a family of 3 as there is a single bed in a separate room in addition to a huge master bedroom. Highly recommended!

  • This was my first airbnb experience and it was a delight. Adam is a fantastic host and the apartment had everything I needed (even a bottle of Oregon's finest wine) hehe . The neighborhood is quaint and only 10 minutes from city center. I will certainly stay here again and highly recommend this apartment.

About
We love all things outdoor. In the Summer there isn't a better place to hike, bike and run than Portland. And after a day of exploring the Columbia River Gorge or running through the scenic neighborhoods, there is nothing better than stopping by the Brewery District for a hand crafted beer or Distillery Row for a whiskey tasting. Winter is an excellent time to be here as well. We love skiing and relaxing at the historic Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood along with eating at some of the most recognized and awarded restaurants in the US. Portland boasts one of the most diverse food scenes in any city, which is one of the reasons we love it here so much. And of course Portland wouldn't be complete without a compilation of fantastic coffee shops, which we frequent often. We love this house on Mt. Tabor because of its location to the park and amenities, plus it has everything we need to share our space with guests. Elissa and I have travelled all over the world and stayed at a lot of places so we strive to make your stay here as comfortable as possible. We'll be available if you have any questions or needs but we also are all about respecting privacy, we want you to have an excellent time while you stay in Portland.
