Cozy Studio Flat in the Alps 1890m

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Via delle Torri, Vermiglio, Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol 38029, Italy

The Space

Romantic retreat on Tonale Pass (Trento, Italy) at 1990meters altitude in the beautiful Adamello-Presanella Group, next to the Brenta Dolomites, with spectacular views of the Presanella glacier and peaks nearby.
A spacious and very cozy studio-flat with balcony. Ideal for serious skiers and trekkers, as well as mountain bikers. Ski-lifts to the glacier can be reached on foot and run through June. Not far from the Stelvio National Park.
Skiing in winter November through June, climbing, trekking, cycling, rafting in summer.
The village has supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and cable cars to the glacier and skilifts to slopes can be reached on foot. About 100km of ski slopes, most of them within walking distance! It is part of the Dolomiti Skirama Adamello Brenta skipass system, which comprises other resorts nearby and offers 150 skilifts and 380km of slopes altogether.
Many scenic paths can be explored in summer, including tours of the WWI forts.
The wide range of treks available has something for everyone, from lovers of relaxed mountain walking to adventurous climbers.
One of our favourite ones entails calling in at a mountain dairy to stock up on our favourite cheeses.
Soak in the beauty of the alpine peaks and flora, meet the curious marmots, spot the mountain goats, ravens and golden eagles, then relax in the cozy little flat.
At the moment Internet connection is available from a HotSpot a short walk from the flat - we are working on getting our own.
This is not a hotel but a special place very dear to us, so when you make a reservation, please tell us a bit about yourselves.

    Response from Susanna:

  • Very nice location, particularly for skiing lovers. In less than a 5-minute walk, you will be on the ski runs. Prices of shops, ski-rents, etc. are lower than the average.

The house is nice and fully-equipped. The bed is not particularly confortable for a couple but this was not a problem for us.

Susanna was very kind and helpful with us. A very late check-in was not a problem!

  • Just a few words to thank Susanna for her welcoming attitude and her being sooo generously helpful!
It was a great week in Tonale for both of us and Yogi, our little dog who really enjoyed the apartment as well as the discovery walkarounds and the running marmots!
We really had a great time, the weather was fantastic and the house is very cozy!
Try the bakery shop in the will decide to move there permanently!
Passo del Tonale is a great area for walking, sunbathing and visiting the fortresses of World War I.
If you have a chance, try the evening excursion.
We are really enthusiastic and we warmly recommend it!
You will fall in love with the area and of course with your host and her being so attentive!
Thank you again Susanna for making it happen!

  • Cosy appartement. Right in the village of Tonale. Excellent base for hiking in the summer. Susanna is extremely helpful with everything. Perfect place for nature lovers. No wifi in the apartment but we were able to use the wifi of nearby hotel about 300m away. Little flat is equipped with all the essential. We enjoyed our stay.

  • Susanna is a lovely host. She was very helpful and made us feel welcome. Her apartment had all the basic essentials for cooking, maps for hiking and instructions on care of the apartment. The apartment/studio is basic, a little aged, and cosy. Good for two people. Bed is an older, pull out sofa type. Excellent location for nature lovers and out door types. Complete place for rest with no TV or wifi. Plenty of books and other reading material. We used the wifi at the local hotel 300m away from the apartment. Local tourist office in the village is great and helpful. Everything you need is close by. We had a great stay.

  • Our stay in Susanna's apartment was really fine. The flat is equipped with everything you may ever need and is quite cosy and homelike. It is a bit hard to get to, but Susanna was so very nice and hospitable that she gave us a lift to Passo Tonale from the train station at Malé.
I guess, that our short (only four nights) during low season must have been very inconvenient to Susanna, but she never let us feel it. We are really grateful for her hospitality.

I am an English language teacher and translator, with a background in Art, Dance and Performance. My family are very mixed, so I grew up bilingual and travelled extensively since a very small baby. I am mother to Eric who's 20 and is studying to be a social worker, as well as playing bass guitar and trying to start a band. My boyfriend Simon, who's English, is a software engineer and lives in England due to his job so we're both shuttling back and forth between our two countries, taking it in turns visiting each other until he retires. We have two dogs - a big Labrador called Iron and a small black mongrel called Mickey - and one black cat whose name is Sooty. I enjoy having guests and showing them around. We are easy-going, open-minded people. We like hiking with our dogs, taking nature photographs, cooking and drinking wine. I also enjoy reading and painting and throwing the odd party or two. Our small town, Treviso, boasts lovely medieveal architecture, wine bars and designer shops galore, as well (email hidden)ly scene of movers and shakers in design and arts. Our region is a premiere wine-making area - we have several autoctonous varietals, like the Prosecco and the less famous but no less moreish Raboso, and our country house is surrounded by vineyards. I have started a small environmental group and organise clean-up operations and music events to raise awareness on the need to protect our fragile riverine environment. I am also interested in philosophy and spirituality and regularly hold meditation retreats.
