This sweet first-floor one bedroom apartment is on a quiet street on the bikepath in the heart of the heart of Madison near the Willy Street co-op, terrific restaurants, buslines. It sleeps two or three. The kitchen has what you need. Artist owned and decorated! Come on in.
This house built at the turn of the century for railroad workers is simple but has about everything. Wood floors, gas cook stove, beautiful art, washer dryer in the basement. Two sleep comfortably in the BRAND NEW queen bed with cotton sateen sheets and home made art quilts to snuggle under. There is an option to use the futon in the living room for more sleeping space. One dog (that behaves) is fine with me.
You will be a block from the Willy Street co-op, a dozen restaurants, a hardware store a pharmacy, and the very best bakery in Madison! The house is 2-3 miles from the campus and 13 blocks from the state capital. We are 5 blocks from lake Monona and 6 from the big lake Mendota. The bus line is 2 blocks away and the house is on the bike path. We have a small farmer's market on Tuesdays from 4-7 a few blocks away. When people are asked "what is Madison to you?" this is the part of town they describe: the hip Bohemian, super cool near east side. This is a no smokers habitat.
I live around the corner and work at home and will be available to welcome guests in and point them to to all the good stuff. I have coffee and tea for your delight. Cream? Sugar?
I love having a walking life. Here on the east side you can walk to the beach, to St. Vinney's thrift store, to the coffee shop, to the food coop. The houses are close and we as neighbors care about each other and look out for each other. There are rental bikes available nearby and the apartment is on the bike path! Wooo hooo!
the bus to go everywhere is 2 blocks away. there is generally plenty of parking on the street. From the airport take a taxi.
No smokers, No smoking!!!! I prefer not to rent to Smokers. Please leave the place as you found it. If you have a dog, walk him on a leash and pick up after him. If he sleeps on the sofa please put down a sheet so he's not on my quilt. If you need anything I live right around the corner.
The reservation was canceled 200 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Everything we needed was provided. the location is ideal - walking distance to restaurants and the Willy (website hidden)-op.
I had a great stay here! I moved to Madison and used Cherie's place for just over a week while I searched for a permanent residence. The apartment was clean and heated when we arrived (it was quite cold when we arrived at the end of January), and there were no issues getting in.
The apartment is in a neat location, a short drive to downtown, and in a quiet neighborhood with some interesting local cafes, stores and restaurants within walking distance. Inside was clean and had all the amenities one could need, even clean towels, and importantly, a coffee maker and grinder. There were two of us, and more than enough room. The Apple TV is a nice feature.
Cherie was a great host, very responsive when we accidentally locked ourselves out. At the end of our initial stay I still hadn't found a place to live, and thankfully Cherie allowed us to stay longer, even helping to wave what would have been a second cleaning and booking fee.
Cherie and her house definitely made my move to Madison much less stressful, and I'm glad I picked it.
A sweet crib! Everything was just as described. clean and comfy. The bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood was safe and eclectic. walk to great dining spots. This was a nice relaxing place I would recommend to others.
The apartment is everything described! It is a fabulous location. We ran or walked on the nearby path and shopped by walking around the Willie Street neighborhood. We did not actually meet Cherie but every communication was prompt and accurate. The space was perfect for our family of four and small dog, and her quilts are beautiful!
My father and sister were visiting Madison for the holidays from England and they stayed at Cherie's place.
Cherie was very welcoming and the place was very comfortable. The neighborhood is great (safe, restaurants, shops, bars, buses), and there's usually ample on-street parking right outside the house.
Also -- the heating system keeps the place nice and toasty warm, which was important in December :-).
Just had a great time in Madison! Cherie was an excellent host, and I recommend her listing. I would not hesitate to reserve it again in the future.
