This cozy studio apartment is in a brand-new building in an exclusive location, "Palermo Chico", which, small as its name implies, is home to many embassies, modern-art museum, dozens of restaurants, boutiques, parks, gyms, bars, sport clubs, a shopping mall, and some of Buenos Aires' most exclusive addresses. Just 1.5 blocks away from Avenida Santa Fe and the green line subway.
Palermo is one of the city's largest and most affluent barrios. Its size and diversity have led people to slice and dice it into several (more or less distinct) neighborhoods.
Palermo proper, closest to Barrio Norte and Recoleta, and also spanning Avenida Libertador from roughly Avenida Coronel Díaz all the way up to Belgrano, is "classic" Palermo, "Palermo" Palermo — the part of Palermo that has avoided being classified as anything else by real-estate mavens. For those who prefer their coffee to remain coffee-flavored (not hazelnut or vanilla), Palermo proper is home to many parks (including the Botanical Gardens and the city's largest zoo) and many modern residential high-rises (including the city's tallest). Then, tucked inside Palermo proper is Palermo Chico, which, small as its name implies, is home to many embassies, a modern-art museum, and some of Buenos Aires' most exclusive addresses.
The sprawling neighborhood of Palermo Viejo is further subdivided into Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood. The scene in Palermo Soho revolves around Plaza Serrano. (You'll never hear anyone call it Plazoleta Cortázar, its proper name.) Surrounding Plaza Serrano are numerous trendy clothing and design shops, and not too far off is La Viruta, a tango hall popular with locals, expats, young, and old. Palermo Hollywood, so named for its housing of BA's burgeoning film and TV industries, is where you'll find Carnal (an upscale downscale bar nearby many other bars and nightclubs) and Olsen (groundbreaking Scandinavian cuisine south of the equator — who knew?).
First time using airbnb. All of our correspondence with the owner was in very good English. When we arrived at the address we were met by an employee with no English and checking in was extremely challenging. No information on how to contact someone in case of an issue (other than email). Room was just like in the photos, clean, comfortable, nice. It was cleaned daily which was great. Location was good. Neighbours were quiet at first and then a new set came and they were a but loud, with music going past 1am. Check out was easy. Twice we were woken up by an employee knocking on our door. I guess we sleep too much?
Accommodation was as shown in pictures. Location is good as right by metro / train which helps for getting around and you can walk to the nice parts of Palermo in 10-15 mins.
Swimming pool is really small so don't think you can actually do any swimming in it! But nice to have if it's a hot day and you need to cool off. Cleaners come most days but don't do a very good job of cleaning to be honest although the apartment was clean on arrival.
Balcony doors do not lock shut but we reported this to the host so assume they will fix this. Apartment was on the second floor though so no real danger of anyone climbing in and taking your stuff.
Shower not very powerful and at the moment there's a huge building site behind the apartment block (which the bedroom window backs onto) with builders who start at 7am so if you're a light sleeper and don't want to wake up early I wouldn't recommend this! However I sleep fine through noise so was just about ok.
Overall we had a good stay and think we got what we paid for.
Great studio, clean and comfortable, just a 10 minute walk to the action in Palermo. Pool on the roof a treat. Only downside was the double bed was a bit short and only one set of towels provided. Nevertheless would recommend and revisit.
Lovely rooftop, Nice and clean rooms, perfect area just next to the metro that takes you arround in the City for only 3.5 real. We recommend it. And remember to do the winetasting in walking distance at anuva wines it is outstanding and the Best i BA, (email hidden)
Hello, we stayed at the apartment for 2 days and had a good stay, it was clean and nice and the view from the swimming pool is great!
The internet was not working,(two days) very stressful for those of us that rely on the web for work.
Excellent location, minutes from the Sube Train
Awesome deli next door
I need internet so can't stay here again, but if you don't need to be connected it is a great (website hidden) no concierge so you are really on your own!
Top, everything was nice and they were very kind and flexible.
Our stay in the apartment was very nice. The apartment was new and clean. Also it is located in a very safe area.
The rentinBA team was very responsive. Every email inquiry was responded to immediately. And we had our flight delayed a day and they were quick in making sure we could stay. The apartment location is great and very central. The place was like a nice hotel room.
Only negative comments--it could have been a bit cleaner. Also the pics seem to be from multiple apartments so double check which one you're getting. I thought our apartment would have a balcony but it didn't. Otherwise all good!
Great apartment on a good location. Great value!
