One of the best values for the price in Thailand. Bob is there to accommodate you in any way he can.
Staying at Bob's place was the most fun we had in Thailand. He was a great host and was extremely knowledgable and helpful. He went out of his way many times to help us and we really appreciated it. Bob and his daughter allowed us to have a real Thailand experience. Getting into Chiang Mai is very simple from Bob's place and only for 20 baht!!!!!!
Definitely recommend for anyone to stay at Bob's place. Especially if they are looking for a relaxed authentic experience.
we arrive in the evening after a long trip by car. Bob was very friendly shure.
But we get a shok when he show the teak house the "kitchen" dirty the sleeping room very small (a Little more then the bed) the bathroom very dirty the room for our daugther at the ground alone and very small also a Little more than one bed. She can not sleep there. Ok we have no Chance and sleep together in one bed next morning we looking for an other place. Bob offer an other house but is was not better. my Ladys will not stay there longer. At all I am crazy for book one month without looking. But I beleve the mails from Bob and the offer at Internet. The pics Show the house when it was nearly new and now?? I think airbnb should control the offers but at the Internet everything Looks good. Ok for me it was a big lost and a lesson again do not beleve the offers at Internet, have a look before you make a long term booking. Sorry Bob you are very nice but the offer was terrible.
For the price the house is really excellent--a true Thai teak house with the bedroom & bathroom upstairs, screened in, and a large outdoor space both upstairs and below. A kitchen, refrigerator, and parking are also below. All nicely furnished and landscaped.
Bob is a generous host, picked me up at airport and gave me tons of local advise. We even had dinner together with his daughter one evening.
But you need to know the house is a ways from Chiang Mai proper. That is not all bad as it is more authentic out his way and there is a truly terrific restaurant just around the corner (great food, charming people & inexpensive). I rented a good scooter (Bob helped) and drove back and forth, but it is a ways.
Bob was super friendly, and had good information on the area. The restaurant he recommended just around the corner was our favorite meal in Chaing Mai!! The accomadations were a great value for the price. Again bob was super hospitable offered us his moter bike and also, gave us a ride to the airport. We would recommend Bob's place Go Red Wings!! Actually, I missed my flight so I wasn't able to stay at Bob's.
Bob's property is gorgeous! We stayed in a beautiful teak wood house in the tropical green paradise that is his property. It is complete with an adjacent running creak that really makes you feel like you're getting an authentic experience..
The property is located outside of the main city, but a very short motorbike ride to anything and everything Chiang Mai has to offer.
As for Bob, he's friendly and has a lot of helpful tips to share about local markets, food, and places to see. He's a cool guy that is easy to talk to. We had a great time chatting with him.
This is a wonderful place to stay. Traditional Thai architecture, set in tropical surroundings. A bit of a trek to Chang Mai. A small village nearby an interesting place to encounter locals.
We had such a great time at Bob's place! It's a little bit outside of chiang mai, but we really liked it to be a bit more away from all the noise and dirty air of chiang mai! Bob is a really nice man who knows chiang mai good and can tell you a lot about it! Thanks again Bob! Greetings, Ys & Eva from Holland
This house is value for money. Bob is a knowlegeable and accomodating host. He picked us up from the airport, and also dropped us off upon leaving. He was flexible in re-arranging sleeping accomdation for our daughters upon arrival; though we did not understand how the booking for 4 people could have been missed...The house is in traditional Lanna style and it is great to have private space on the wooden balcony and downstairs.
The location is at least 30 min by public transport to the main gates of the Old City, and relatively easy to arrange from the other side of the road. About an hours walk is Baan Tawai, a handicraft village (mainly toursist stuff) and a good antiques shop is around the corner. A 7/11 is 5 min away, as is a restaurant and place to get coffee.
We enjoyed our stay in Chaing Mai and would recommend staying with Bob and his daughter in Hangdon.
