What a great place to stay. Not in old city but easy to access by inexpensive and unique public transportation. We much prefer the quiet of the neighborhood where we easily walked to get great coffee and inexpensive local foods. Bob is a great host. Picked us up at the train station and made arrangements for a fabulous day at Elephant Jungle Eden - a highlight of our trip. Picked up at Bob's place and spent the day walking, feeding and bathing 3 beautiful elephants. Also great lunch included. Would definitely stay here again!

We booked two nights but we just stayed there for one night as we were bitten by bugs. Location: it's not near the old town, we took the red bus to the old town and it took about 20mins. The house is in an alley. It takes about 5-10mins walk from the house to the Main Street to take bus. Host: Bob is helpful and welcoming. He picked us at the airport. He was so patient waiting for us at the airport. As our was delayed due to the bad weather. House: It's located in an quiet environment with like jungle setting. However, the cleanliness is not as much as we can get used to. We cleaned the table and the wood sofa on the first night as we found dust on them. It's acceptable for us as it's like a jungle house. But when we were ready to sleep. We saw ants and some little insects climbing on the bed. The pillow and the blanket seems not clean. We used the repellent to kill the insects and we slept on the bed. However, about an hour later, we got bitten. We had itch on hands, legs, neck. They were getting red and so many bites. We couldn't sleep whole night. We waited until morning and we left. As our hands and legs got worse, we visit a local clinic and the doctor said our itchy were bugs and insects bites. Our skin has allergy since a week ago we checked in until now we went back to HK. We have to see the doctor again as it still has itchy. One more thing about the safety: we cannot lock the door inside the house, we put the table in front of the main door. That was also one of the reasons why we couldn't sleep well as we are two girls staying. The place and the environment is good for relaxing. If you are neat and clean freaks, you will have to think twice. Hope the host can do better on cleaning and insects repelling. It's really a good place for holidays.

Bob's place is nothing short of fantastic! In fact we loved it so much we decided to cancel out last day in Bangkok to stay an extra night at Bob's team houses! It was a great location not far from the city, and found out Uber is pretty big out here and offered the cheapest and best way to get around by far! Bob was amazing and he picked us right up from the airport with a warm welcome and took us back to show us around his property with the amazing Teak Houses he's built over the years of staying in Thailand. When we come back to Thailand we will definitely come back to stay here, my advice is to book in advance because these houses are great and with all the great reviews he's been getting I'm sure it will soon book up fast! Thanks again for the memorable stay Bob! We look forward to staying here again in the future !!!

Bob was an incredible host. He picked us up from the airport and suggested us to do so many amazing things in Chiangmai. Our stay in the city would not have been the same without him.

The Teak house is a great place to stay if you want to stay in Chiang Mai but perhaps don't want to feel like you're in the bustling city. Bob's guest houses are quiet, clean, and comfortable. In these houses you feel like you are tucked away in the jungle. Bob takes pride in what he does. Bob picked us up from our bus station, rented us scooters, gave restaurant recommendations. Bob is a great host.

I'm from Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Canada
I've lived in Thailand for many years and have done business here for 20 years.
I have a 15 year old daughter who lives here on the property with me.
The houses on the property are all converted antique rice barns and up-cycled teak wood houses that I have built with the help of people in our village.
Part of what makes this Air bnb experience great for me is all the travelers I have a chance to meet and the fact that through this endeavor the people who come to stay with us are helping to support our local Thai community and families in the elephant village that our guests have a chance to visit. I look forward to hosting you here in Chiang Mai.
