Our neighbourhood Kensington is peaceful yet almost in the city centre, close to universities, beaches, Centennial Park and even the airport is only 15 minutes by car as we are very close to the freeway which means you can get to almost any part of Sydney and out of Sydney easily. We are also walking distance to the latest art precinct of Danks Street in Surry Hills and walking distance to Fox Studio precinct for farmer's markets, movies and restaurants. Central to everything.
There are a multitude of buses down the street going to all parts of Sydney and its a 10 minutes walk to Greens Square rail station. You can park in the drive way if if there is no other parking available.
Other Things to Note
There is a secure entrance gate which must be locked at all times and a sensor light which is activated by waving, then four steps as soon as the gate opens, take care at night.
I expect guests to make themselves at home and so respect the studio as if it was their home and have a great stay. Sorry no pets allowed as we already have one on the premises.
There is a strict no smoking policy. Please come in the side entrance quietly if it is late at night to respect neighbours and us. You are staying in a residential area so don't chose it if you are planning late nights and partying. No extra guests.
From Jun 1 - Aug 31, 2015 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
Clean well appointed Studio with light breakfast included . Very quiet area. No problem with the availability of street parking. The owners small dog was friendly but not intrusive.
The Studio was at the rear and away from the the house. Access through the garden was via stairs. This was a little difficult with luggage.
Overall pleasing stay
Michal is a wonderful host. She gave clear directions, helped us get settled and has a warm smile. Getting there from the airport is very easy on the bus and it is about a ten minute walk from the bus stop - but the location is on a hill so there is a little climb. (My husband and I aren't very fit but it was fine.) The apartment is small but very clean and has a beautiful garden. It has a microwave, toaster, egg steamer but not a stove or kitchen sink. Perfect for our needs. There are fantastic restaurants nearby, especially the Thai and Greek restaurants. The bus route into Circular Key is fabulous, lots of buses and pretty quick - the apartment is a five minute walk from this bus stop. Michal has bus tickets in the unit for guests to re-use which is a nice touch. NIDA Theatres are a few blocks away so there is top-class live theatre at your fingertips. The apartment is in a lovely neighbourhood. We would definitely stay there again.
We had a lovely week staying in Michal's sunny studio situated in a private garden. Just a short walk from UNSW and NIDA; close to local shops, coffee shops, restaurants and bus routes and a short trip from the airport. Everything we needed for the week was supplied including a bowl of fruit, and everything we needed for breakfast. Our host, Michal, made us most welcome, provided us with information and suggestions for our stay in Sydney. We will definately be planning to stay in the studio on our return visit. Thank you for providing a professional and friendly stay.
Michal was very nice. Place was clean and as described.
Great place to stay. So close to the city, easy to access from motorway. Bungalow had everything we needed, including a verandah facing onto our own square of yard. Would definitely return during future trips to Sydney.
About the Host, Michal
Hi, I discovered Airb&b when planning a trip last year. We had a great time and stayed in 8 listings in 2 continents. I took my time choosing places and it paid off. All the 8 listings were very good and a few were outstanding for different reasons. All the hosts were genuine, caring and interesting people. We took care of their places and have been invited back to all of them. What more can I say? As a guest traveling the world I know I was looking for a good sleep on a comfortable bed and a pleasant outlook that felt safe so I could enjoy being a tourist .The fact that we also met lovely interesting people and that I didn't break the bank with Hotel prices, well that was good too.I can confidently offer you this with my studio listing and its location is perfect for accessing the city, universities and beaches.
I love nature and enjoy nurturing my garden and other creative activities. I can point you in the direction of art galleries and good live music.
