The space

Discover an inviting retreat nestled amid majestic redwoods at this 2BR/2BA A-frame on Austin Creek. Thoughtfully re-imagined and lovingly revitalized by two San Francisco architects, the creative design concepts prioritize inspiring natural light and alluring social spaces while honoring the original structural elements of the home.

Dip your toes in the creek swimming holes behind the home or take a float on the nearby Russian River. Secluded decks invite you to enjoy the beautiful weather. Inside, custom decor and handmade furnishings provide contemporary style and upscale comfort.

LIVING AREAS

A wood-burning stove with a striking black-tile surround can be found in the sunlit living area. Relax and chat on the plush sectional after a day of exploration or curl up with a new book. Please note that the wood-burning stove is the primary source of heat so firewood is provided free of charge. Guests should feel comfortable with making and maintaining a wood fire.

KITCHEN & DINING

The modern kitchen was strategically designed to provide a sleek aesthetic and upscale utility. High-end Fisher & Paykel appliances, including two refrigerator drawers (that switch between fridge, freezer, or bottle chill with the touch of a button), seamlessly blend into the custom cabinetry. Home chefs will also appreciate the double ovens for all your baking needs and a five-burner gas stovetop.

When it’s time to eat, share your culinary creations around the table for six in the dining area.

BEDROOMS & BATHS

This two-story home sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms.

Find quiet privacy in the tranquil level 1 bedroom suite, furnished with a plush Tuft & Needle queen-size bed. The en-suite bathroom is configured with a walk-in shower stocked with organic Meraki soaps.

The second bedroom is upstairs on level 2 in a spacious loft. Sleep soundly on a king-size bed or on the comfy sleeper sofa. Sway in the unique hand-woven hammock and admire the lush scenery up in the trees just outside the large windows.

The second bathroom, on level 1, offers a tub/shower combination, again with all-organic Coyuchi towels and Meraki soaps.

OUTDOOR AREAS

Gather on the back deck to soak up the sun or rest in the shade. Barbecue tasty meals on the charcoal grill and dine alfresco at the table for eight. (Be sure to bring your own charcoal and starter blocks)

The lower decks hold a comfy chaise lounge along with 10 person dining table all overlooking the creek beyond. On starry nights, roast marshmallows and watch the trees sway.

A small stairway leads down to the cool waters of Austin Creek. Walk 2 minutes up the creek to the neighborhood swimming hole. Be careful the stairs are old and can be slick or tough to navigate.

EXTRA AMENITIES & MORE DETAILS

Guest amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer, Meraki soaps, custom Le Labo candles, Coyuchi towels, sonos speakers, and parking for four vehicles in the private driveway.

This home does not have central heating or air-conditioning. While the cabin can be quite cold upon entering, a propane wall heater, mobile space heater, and a wood-burning stove warm up the space. Firewood is provided for your convenience.

Daily quiet hours are from 10pm-7am. Amplified outdoor music is not permitted at any time.
