COMPULSORY GOVERNMENT TOURIST TAX
Visitors to Montenegro holding a passport of any kind other than Montenegrin are subject to a daily tourist tax.
The price of the tax varies depending on the season (it is increased during the summer season). Currently the winter price is EUR 0.50 per day and summer EUR 0.70 per day per person. Most travel agencies issue tourist tax coupons if you are an independent traveler. You will be asked to show the coupon upon leaving the country so it is recommended to visit a tourist agency within the first 24 hours if possible of your stay. There is a charge for the coupon, expect to pay EUR 2 per person. Guidelines are quite strict and we advise you not to wait until the last day of your stay to register. Agencies are not permitted to register latecomers and this could cause some problems. Despite the advice given in some guidebooks it is no longer necessary to register your stay with the police.
Children under 12 pay only for the coupon, and children from 12 to 18 pay half of the tourist tax.
Welcome and enjoy in Herceg Novi!
We are animal lovers so your pets are welcome but please inform us before making a reservation.
Smoking is allowed but in this case we sagest to open the windows and do not smoke near the air conditioner.
Also do not leave the air conditioner on the lowest temperature while you're away.
We stayed here for an extended period in late-July and August and we were very happy that we selected this apartment. It is situated right in the heart of the old city next to a great little square, where you can find nice cafes, a bakery and a fresh produce market just a few steps away. The apartment itself is very spacious and has everything you need. We were visiting with a small baby so sometimes instead of eating out we ordered take-away food or cooked at home, and the apartment is well equipped for this.
In the mornings and evenings we really enjoyed the balcony facing out to the town square and sea in the distance. The courtyard/garden area is also very pleasant and generally shady during the day. The hosts were great and helped us with everything. Nevena made us a list of good beaches and places to visit, which was very helpful, as not all beaches are equal. I would note that the walk down to the seafront promenade involves a number of stairs, so you don’t have to worry about getting some exercise every day.
In short, the apartment exceeded our expectations, the hosts were always very quick in responding to our questions and requests, and I would highly recommend this place to others.
