Our family of eight adults (four couples) and one infant stayed at Anders's Marin Retreat over the holidays, and we loved it! The view was stunning (better than the pictures), and the location was a wonderful base of operations for day trips to Mt. Tam, SF, Sonoma, Muir Woods, etc. The kitchen was well stocked and we found it easy to cook big meals, including a barbecue on the deck and a turkey for Christmas! The home was very comfortable, and our family spent many hours enjoying food, games, TV, and toys together on the top floor. The layout of the house worked well for us because there was a great common area to hang out in, but also other floors for people to get some quiet time if desired. Anders graciously provided a high chair upon request, and went above and beyond in setting up a lovely Christmas tree to complete the festive atmosphere. He was quick to respond to our questions and made check-in and check-out easy. We have tons of happy memories and are grateful we had the chance to stay here!
Interacted with Anders via email. He was very amenable to changes that we requested and extremely easy to work with. Instructions for home usage were very complete. Layout of home was a bit odd, but expected in the hills it was built in. Beautiful views from the deck. My four adult kids and their 4 children and 1 infant occupied the home. They really only used the home for sleeping as We live close by and everyone spent wake hours with us. Thank you for making this an easy stay!
Anders' home is beautifully situated in the hills north of San Francisco. Our family visited the bay area for my niece's wedding. The day after her wedding was our family get together. We wanted to entertain them in a setting away from the major city lights and sounds of San Francisco. Anders' place hit the mark big time.

We stayed in Anders Marin retreat. It was absolutely gorgeous. The pictures dont do the views justice. He was very helpful and answered any questions I had in a very timely fashion. Also left us helpful reminders througgout the trip like remembering to put down the umbrellas when it was windy, and kindly letting us know when trash day was. We were on a bachelorette party so it was so much easier to book the whole house than get several hotel rooms. It was a quiet neighborhood so we did have to go inside after 9pm but were allowed to make all the noise we wanted during the day for brunch on the balcony. :-)
What a lovely, peaceful, well-equipped home and accommodating host!
Although we were a large group, there was plenty of space for all of us and sufficient amounts of privacy. The view from the decks was amazing and the location, although off the beaten path, was lovely and convenient.

Hi I'm Anders
I have been hosting since early 2013. I'm from Sweden and live with my kids in Marin, just north of San Francisco. We also have a condo in North Lake Tahoe close to Tahoe City. We travel a lot, especially on weekends and during Summer, so our places are available quite often and sometimes for long periods of time.
