Some information and recommendations for Marin:

There are guidebooks and information on California, San Francisco, Marin, Napa and Sonoma available in the house.

For more information on Marin attractions such as Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Mt Tam, Sausalito, Tiburon, San Rafael etc. please see e.g. (website hidden)_County_California.html

Good stops on the way from SFO to Greenbrae:
- Sausalito. You can park in Sausalito and walk to see what restaurants you like. Nice village with great views over San Francisco and the bay. It is only 10 min from there to Greenbrae. (website hidden)
- Tiburon Peninsula: Simular to Sausalito but smaller and less tourists. Only 5 min from Greenbrae. (website hidden)

Greenbrae/Larkspur restaurants (also see (website hidden)):
-A good restaurant for families with children in the Greenbrae neighborhood is "WipeOut" in Bon Air shopping Center (the strip mall across Sir Francis Drake Blvd). It is a "Surfer's Menu" with free meals for kids in Tuesdays! Outdoor seating.
-The Cheese Cake Factory in Corte Madera also has a family friendly menu and is very popular.
- Marin Brewery in Larkspur Landing is also a good alternative for beer and bar food. Outdoor seating.
- Left Bank in old Larkspur is charming and good.
- The Tavern at Lark Creek in Larkspur is very good with old world charm.
- There is a great cafe in old Larkspur as well called Cafe Rulli.
- Farm Shop just opened in Larkspur Landing as well. A bit pricey, but nice atmosphere and bar.
- Our favorite local take away is Sushi Co. in Larkspur landing. The Thai place there is also

  • The house was great - just as it looked on the photos. We really enjoyed our stay there, it has the right combination of peace and quiet but with many things to do just a short drive away. Anders was a great host, very easy to contact and very accommodating.

  • Loved staying in this warm and beautiful home. Close to stores, restaurants and SF sites. We ate out, ate in and enjoyed a long weekend with our large family all staying together here.

  • My family stayed at Anders' home in Kentfield, CA for three nights. Ander's was a very nice host and very communicative and helpful. The house was not perfect for our 21 month old because of the steep stairs inside but the outdoor space was beautiful and fun for the kids to play.

  • Anders house was the perfect place for my family to stay while visiting the Bay Area over Thanksgiving. Everything at the house was as advertised. Anytime we had questions prior to our stay Anders was quick to reply. He even asked how things were going a few times during our stay just in case we had any questions. The view from his deck was breathtaking, and both the upper and lower decks were great places to relax. I would definitely recommend staying here for anyone looking for a place in Marin or near by San Francisco.

  • We really enjoyed this beautiful home and did our best to be good tenants -- in hopes to someday return! It was just perfect for our needs and helped make the wedding celebration week truly special. The spectacular view, the decks, the setting, and Anders' helpfulness made it so comfortable and fun for us.
This was a perfect location for our various outings, and having a comfortable place to host family and visit made an important week in our lives truly memorable and special.
Thank you Anders, and thank you airbnb.

  • Thank you Anders!
Beautiful home with amazing views and conveniently located to freeway access to San Francisco, Napa and Sonoma. The home is located in a quiet neighborhood which allowed us to unwind from the days we spent in the city. The two very large patio spaces were perfect to stay outdoors and enjoy the breathtaking views. Host was very attentive and easy to communicate with. Home was exactly as displayed in the photos and has ample space. Very kid friendly home. Absolutely an amazing stay!!!

  • Thank you Anders,
From the first email, Anders has been attentive and quick to respond! The house was everything we could have wanted, and everything it is presented as. We felt very looked after, but also felt that our privacy was respected, as Anders was only there if we needed something. This place is pure magic, and you will enjoy every moment there. If you fill the feeder, you will even be visited by beautiful humming birds to bring even more magic to your stay. The cost of having such awesome views, is that the house is on a very steep hill, but the parking in front of the house meant that it was not a problem. In short awesome house, and wonderful Host, what more could you ask for!!

  • Anders place was wonderful. My family came in town from Wisconsin and we needed a place to host 7 people. Their home is beautiful and relaxing. Everyone had their own personal space. The kitchen was a great plus for our family. We love to cook. I think everyone loved the top porch and the great views.

The location was very nice. Easy to access from hwy. Farmers market and shops near by.

Thank you so much for the blessings of your home.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay in the 4-bedroom Marin retreat. The home is located in a beautiful, peaceful community up on a hill with beautiful views from almost every window and from the spacious deck and balcony. The main living area has many nice features--wood floors, lots of windows, and doors that can open wide to the balcony giving you the sense that you're almost outside all of the time! The home's three levels and three bathrooms offer lots of privacy. The house is very kid friendly if that is what you are looking for; two of the bedrooms are children's rooms with youth beds. The home's location made it very easy for us to make day trips to San Francisco, Sonoma valley and Napa valley. We also enjoyed being north of the city as we were able to "warm up" after spending cold, windy days in San Francisco. Our host was very professional, timely and courteous in communicating with us.

  • Great stay! exceeded beyond our expectations.
Nice homely atmosphere along with lots of activities for children, and all the necessities and comforts of home. House was also very clean and organized. Easy to move in and out of. Fairly close to San Francisco and Sausalito. Had a great view of the outdoors, lots of trees and fresh air, beautiful view from the outer deck. Also had a safeway nearby, so was convenient to be able to grab food and supplies when we needed it. Host was also very kind and responsive. Easy to rent. Overall, greatly satisfied. Would return if we were to visit again.

Hi I'm Anders I have been hosting since June 2013. I'm from Sweden and live with my kids in Marin, just north of San Francisco. We also have a condo in North Lake Tahoe close to Tahoe City. We travel a lot, especially on weekends and during Summer, so our places are available quite often and sometimes for long periods of time.
