House Rules

Please let me know if you intend to bring your pet. There is a secure yard but I need your assurances:
1) You will clean up after your pet and
2) Your pet is well behaved, and
3) You'll need to ensure your pet has its own bedding and does not sleep on the couch or bed, and does not come in contact with the supplied bed sheets, blankets, and towels.

My neighbours have cats and chickens so this is another consideration; if your pet (e.g. dog) makes a lot of noise then it will not be suitable at the chalet.

Strictly no-smoking policy inside the chalet. You are welcome to smoke outside, but please dispose of your butts/ash/rubbish thoughtfully in the rubbish bin.

Strictly no burning candles inside. (One guest cracked the glass coffee table by burning her candles! Another guest burnt the plastic knob on the bedside radio and managed to damage the bedside table. Yet another guest left pools of wax on my dining table! In short, I've endured too much damage because of guests supplying and burning their own candles - they have proven to be extremely dangerous (or perhaps I've just had an incredibly bad run of candle-mad guests?!?)

I would like all future guests to be able to enjoy the chalet and its furniture without dog hair on blankets, candle wax and candle burns, etc.

Please treat others in the same way you'd like to be treated.

The chalet is located in a Residential Street with very friendly neighbours (say hello to Ross and Sean, and Jeanine). My son Jan lives a few doors down. There's a harmonious vibe and sense of community that's important to me and my neighbours. If you listen carefully whilst standing in the courtyard, then you may hear the soft clucking of chickens from one of my neighbours! (note, there are no roosters!)

I respect the right of my neighbours to enjoy peace and quiet in their homes, and I ask you to make sure sure that no noise can be heard outside the house between 10pm and 8am.

Please, when Exiting and Entering the property, bear in mind that my neighbour's house-wall forms the wall of the walkway and it's made of wood. Therefore, please be quiet when walking down the path and along their house, as they can hear noises very easily and i don't wish to disturb them.

The advertised rental is Strictly for Domestic Use only and Not for Commercial use. The rental rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions or parties in terms of cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc. Use contrary to this may result in loss of the security deposit and/or additional payments

You're very welcome to use the washing machine for your personal clothes.
If you're going to wash the supplied Bed Linen, Towels, and other Manchester, then please Wash the Whites Separately.
That is, Please Do Not Mix White Towels & White Sheets with Coloured Fabrics (sorry if that's obvious to you, but I've had numerous well-intentioned guests who've washed coloured-garmets with my white bed linens and towels).
Note the Clothes-Drying Line is located on a reel on the verandah, next to the red door. There's an additional clothes rack in the tool-shed.

So glad to have finally stayed at Vicki's beautiful chalet. It is gorgeous, cozy and accurately described with everything that you will need. I was grateful to be able to bring my little dog Ollie, and I was so reassured knowing that he would be safe in the secure yard. Unrestricted parking was a bonus, as was the proximity to the St Kilda forefront....but you would never have known because it was such a quiet little oasis. I hope to return in the warmer months to enjoy the garden.

Vicky's place is just a short stroll away from Ackland St/Barkley St. However, it is located in a quiet, residential street in St Kilda, so you feel quite removed from the seedier aspects of St Kilda nightlife. We only stayed for one night, so we didn't get to use the kitchen much, but the bathroom does have a nice, deep bath (for one, not two), and the split system heated up the space nicely. Overall, the chalet was great place to wind down after a hectic day out and about.

The Chalet is delightful. Nestled amongst a beautiful garden, the setting offers a quite and peaceful stay on the doorstep of all that St Kilda has to offer. Vicki is a wonderful host with everything you need for a stay at your fingertips as too instructions. Our dog Daisy loved the seclusion and the short walks to excellent off the leash park and beach. Loft style bedroom with a spiral staircase leading to it adds to the character of the Chalet, which offers a very comfortable stay, in our case for a week. We had the perfect stay and loved the Chalet - recommended for a great stay in St Kilda.

Just as the pictures show. Very private and secluded. Very pretty house, looks like a dolls house :) Warm and cosy (I was there in the winter) Lovely stay!

Vicki's place is in a quiet cul-de-sac residential street and close to everything St Kilda as well as convenient for transport to other parts of Melbourne. It is set away but self-contained and quiet and peaceful. It is a loft style space but well equipped and provisioned. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

Vicki User ProfileVicki is a superhost.

Welcome to my profile. I've lived in St Kilda and the surrounding bayside areas for many years. I love spending time with my children and grand-children, gardening, and travelling with my husband Stipe. We really enjoy meeting interesting and kind people, especially travelers who are keen to explore this beautiful place. We also really like a nice glass or two of good Australian red wine!
