The Neighborhood

*Located 6km from Melbourne's CBD, St Kilda is a beautiful bay-side suburb with a cosmopolitan flair and village atmosphere.
*If you like walking, then this is an ideal location. I prefer to do most of my travel on foot, public transport and bicycle. Yes, it is possible to have a great life in St KIlda without a car! All the best Melbourne has to offer is easily within reach. However, car lovers are looked after with easy access to Melbourne's major arterials, such as Nepean Highway and Dandenong Road only a couple of streets away.
*The 96 tram (20 -25 mins to Melb CBD), Albert Park Lake and heaps of cool cafes and restaurants are a stroll (website hidden) KILDA'S ATTRACTIONS:
St Kilda is one of the most interesting, beautiful and bohemian parts of Melbourne.

Fitrzroy, Acland, Carlisle and Inkerman Streets are mere minutes away and are home to some of Melbourne's best shops and famous restaurants, bars and cafes, including: The George, Cicciolina, Tolarno's, Lau's Family Kitchen, Pelican, Golden Fields, Circa @ The Prince, Mirka by Guy Grossi, Cafe Di Stasio, Newmarket Hotel, Mr Wolf and Dr Jekyll. Shoppers will love St Kilda too - notable for its fashion boutiques, hip and retro recycles, homewares and book stores.

Kite-Surfing on the bay and many recreational facilities including the Sea Baths, Albert Park Lake and Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre are close-by. Hire a bike or jog along the beautiful foreshore

The infamous St Kilda beach is minutes away by foot. Take a stroll down Acland Street and munch on some of the best pastries imaginable. Continue along to the St Kilda beach boardwalk and visit the fairy-penguin inhabitants at sunset as they return to nest after a hard day's swimming. Explore the coastal trail from St Kilda to Elwood (jog up heart-attack hill to clear the lungs!) Move on to Brighton, or head up to trendy Port Melbourne for a spot of roller-blading, sun-bathing and finish the day with the best crispy fish'n'chips (& salad!) by the port.

Getting around

Everything you need is within easy walking distance, including supermarkets, cool-kat cafes, artisan bakeries, local galleries, live-music venues, fabulous hairdressers, and public transport, not to mention the novel Victorian-era Restaurant-Tram.

Public transport is a breeze. The 96 tram stop is only a few minutes walk away on Acland Street and will take you into Melbourne's city centre within 20-25 minutes on a good run! St Kilda is surrounded by beautiful bay-side areas including Albert Park, South Yarra, Prahran and Port Melbourne so there's a vast range of shopping, dining and recreational opportunities on offer. The choices are yours to make in this wonderful location for the quintessential St Kilda experience, in the most liveable city in the world.

Drivers are located close to major arterials which means you'll be on the freeway in no time, whether it's Phillip Island, the Great Ocean Road, the Dandenongs, or Mornington Peninsula - all easily accessible day trips from the chalet.

  • From the moment we inquired to the moment we checked out, this Airbnb experience was positive, enjoyable and no fuss. Vicki is an excellent host who responded quickly and efficiently to emails, only too eager to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The chalet is delightful - super clean, charming and attractive both inside and out, with close proximity to the many attractions of St Kilda, including restaurants, entertainment, beaches and great public transport. The bed was very comfortable with the best pillows ever! We wished we could have stayed much longer.

  • I loved everything about this place. Bite sized and beautiful. Very quiet and private. Stylishly presented. Uber clean. Fantastic comfy bed in the loft. Cute Cute Cute. I hope it is available every time I come to Melbourne. Beats any hotel hands down.

  • Vicki's chalet is a very cozy and romantic place. Every corner is impeccably clean and tidy! It is equipped with many necessities which saves our cost of buying the groceries. I especially love the design and decorations of the place. My husband likes the coffee table -- it's so artistic!
The check in process is simple as Vicki provides us with very clear instructions. She also offers information of shops near the chalet. We were surprised by the late closing hours of the nearby Acland Street, which stands a lot of cafés, cake shops, pubs and groceries. What's more, we were never short of entertainment as Vicki's chalet enjoys close proximity to Luna Park and St Kilda Pier, in where you can spot little fairy penguins! Only a short taxi ride of about $10 you can set your foot in the colourful bathhouses of Brighton Beach. There are still many more that we haven't discovered. I wish I can stay in this place for a longer period next time! :)
    Highly recommended!

  • Our stay at the Chalet was perfect, we can't recommend Vicki's place in St Kilda enough! Close to the beach and a short stroll to the shops, bars and restaurants the location was perfect for exploring plus close to the trams for easy access to the city. The place was beautifully decorated, impeccably clean and very comfortable - the perfect home from home!

Checking in and out was super easy and Vicki was very helpful at responding to our queries - thank you Vicki for making our first air bnb experience so great! We hope to stay again in the future!

  • Wow this place has everything! It is exactly as the pictures show. Tidy and well laid out, convenient to everything and very clean. Vicki has thought of everything here, including kitchen utensils and appliances, books and DVDs and tea and coffee. The design of the place is really comfortable too and even gave us a few ideas for our own place. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a couples retreat. Thanks so much for having us Vicki!

  • We loved our stay here, and would definitely stay again! Vicki's Chalet was clean, comfortable and very hospitable. It is well positioned with only a short walk to St Kilda shops, cafes/restaurants, Luna Park, tram stations and train station. The bed was really comfortable. The directions and "key pick-up system" she has in place works incredibly well and is easy to follow and we had no troubles getting in and finding her place. Finally, all communication with Vicki was outstanding. She was incredibly organised and always replied promptly and to the point. Thanks Vicki!

  • Vicki's place is really lovely, it's as pretty as the pictures shown, if not better! The place is clean and very comfortable and all amenities are very well maintained or very new. We enjoyed the yard too, my 6 year old had a great time jumping & running outside. The myki cards were a bonus, we could just top up and use them. The location is perfect for exploring St Kilda. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, the Sunday market on St Kilda is a short stroll away.

  • Vicki's chalet was by far the best bnb-experience we had so far and we did severa all over Europe. We are a family of three with a 6year old and were absolutely thrilled to arrive in such a nice house after a 30 hour travel. The chalet is beautiful and cosy. It is well located in Melbourne in a very nice neighbourhood. The interior is very nicely decorated and all electrical equipment is very new and of a high standard. The chalet was very clean and Vicki even provided us with some food to survive the first day. Vicki was also ver helpful during the booking communication and responded very quickly to our questions during our stay. It was just perfect and we would like to come again!

Welcome to my profile. I've lived in St Kilda and the surrounding bayside areas for many years. I love spending time with my children and grand-children, gardening, and travelling with my husband Stipe. We really enjoy meeting interesting and kind people, especially travelers who are keen to explore this beautiful place. We also really like a nice glass or two of good Australian red wine!
