The space
Please note: Due to Covid-19 we are only accepting long term stays of 7+ nights. Thank you for understanding.
If you are seeking a country getaway, you will feel right at home in our charming guest house. This is a private ground floor studio apartment (420 sq.ft.) adequate for up to two guests has a queen bed, bathroom, and storage. There is a kitchenette (not a full kitchen, no range or dishwasher) with a bar sink, half refrigerator, and is well stocked with equipment to prepare small meals. In addition, there is a front porch with a table, two chairs and a Lotus Grill. The 2-car garage (shared with the upstairs unit) has a washer & dryer, Cyber Arc Trainer, massage chair, extra refrigerator/freezer, board games, and random book selection. There is also a private locked storage space with extra supplies (towels, sheets, bed pillows, bath mat, two beach/outdoor towels) with room for storing suitcases, etc. We provide fresh roasted organic coffee beans from Portland Roasting Coffee and an assortment of Stash Tea.

Guest access
Alpaca Farm and Gardens is 70-acres with enchanting gardens to explore and friendly alpacas to hand feed. The gardens feature two pergolas, a woodland gazebo, a cozy seating area in the potager, and a fire pit with picnic tables by the pond. These areas are open sunrise to sunset.

Other things to note
1. Alpaca Farm and Gardens is a working farm so there could be noise after 9:00 AM to maintain the property. You may hear a lawnmower, weed whacker, leaf blower, air compressor, general maintenance work, or a tractor in the pastures.
2. All accommodations are NON SMOKING.
3. Additional guests are not allowed to sleep over. This accommodation is strictly for up to two guests. Sorry, no exceptions.
4. If you plan to venture in the garden, the woodland or alpaca pastures its best to bring appropriate shoes. There is also an assortment of mud boots you can borrow located in the garage of the guesthouse but we cannot guarantee your size.
5. Sorry, no pets or emotional support animals allowed. Unfamiliar dogs are very disturbing to Alpacas as they think they are predators. Thank you for understanding.
6. Please inquire regarding long term stays, as different rules apply for amenities offered.

My husband Michael and I have lived on these 70-acres since 1990, raising four children and an assortment of pets. Our farm, Northwest Alpacas, has been in business since the first Alpaca import in 1984. My husband has written five books about alpacas as well as judging them world wide. I founded the Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America. We are known in the industry as "alpaca pioneers". When our kids flew the nest in 2006, we started Oakwood Gardens as a way to see more beautiful things grow and flourish. We enjoy nature, traveling, gardening, architecture, the arts, and real food. Most of all we look forward spending time with our four adult children enjoying our family traditions. In the spring of 2016 we opened our first Airbnb accommodation and since opened four more. It has been a delight to host such a wonderful assortment of people from around the world to share our farm and garden with.
