Thank you, Windy - unfortunately, like some of the guests who have written reviews, we did not get to meet Windy in person, however, she was very nice, responsive, and helpful throughout the process!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage and in Tahoe - this location is minutes from a Lake Tahoe beach (that was partially frozen for our visit) and about 10-20 minutes from the Heavenly gondola (depending on traffic). The house was clean, warm, and had plenty of room (3.5 bedrooms - 4 >double beds and a pull out couch, 3 bathrooms). The garage is small but our car fit fine - see previous posts for dimensions. The backyard was beautiful and although the house is close to the main road, we saw this more as a convenience - we were several hundred feet from Grocery Outlet and about 5 minutes from Safeway - we were also not disturbed by any of the traffic noise and neither was our 7 month old. The kitchen was great - it was helpful to have the kitchen inventory to help plan meals, we left some spices and such which seem pretty common - was pleasantly surprised at all the "extras" the house provided.
Overall, great experience - we would definitely recommend to anyone and would be happy to stay again.
Great time at Tahoe. Casino and Heavenly Ski resort was conveniently closed by.
We literally booked the house 3 hours before showing up and the process was smooth and everything was great. The house is beautiful, spacious and clean. TThe only problem is the house is right by the busy roads, which takes away from the beautiful backyard and is also very noisy.
Windy is an incredible host to work with. She provided plenty of information and was very responsive to our requests. The house itself is quaint and my family had an enjoyable time staying there. The views are lovely from the dining room and it was nice walking around in the back yard. Small note to consider when selecting this home: It's close to a large road and you will hear traffic. Something to keep in mind if you have light sleepers not accustomed to road noises as we did. That being said, you can easily walk to the put put course across the street and don't have to worry about getting lost in a neighborhood!
This house was very comfortable and nice! We stayed here for a low-key bachelorette party and had a great time. We were able to walk to El Dorado Beach (2 miles) and it was a quick drive to stateline. Windy was great at leaving detailed instructions and giving tips on what to do in the area. I would highly recommend this place!
This place was great! Fantastic location. We had a great time riding the Powerline trail & around Fallen Leaf Lake. We absolutely loved the view of the meadow & the patio. Windy is super responsive and full of great ideas for nearby places to eat & shop.
A few words of advice for future renters:
- the garage is tiny. there was absolutely no way our Toyota minivan would fit in the garage. In fact, we had a hard time getting an intermediate rental car out of the garage. Only a few inches of clearance on each side.
- the hotel guests across the street seemed extremely interested in us loading & unloading our luggage & bikes. be vigilant.
- while the house is well appointed, it doesn't have some of the things we normally expect for a rental in this price range: no wine opener (windy is replacing it), no coffee grinder, and no laundry detergent.
Thanks, Julie. I did replace the wine opener :)
Just a note that the hotel neighbors have never created any problems, in fact they have watched out for my property and let me know when a previous guest left some exterior damage.
For future guests: Garage doors are 8' feet wide and interior length is ~ 20'.
The house was just as expected: clean, cozy and very comfortable. Wendy was helpful and nice. My family had a great time and we can't wait to go back during the winter.
