Located in one of the most quintessential neighborhoods in Los Angeles, this cottage is a 60 second walk to the beach and mere blocks from Abbot Kinney Boulevard, the Venice Canals, and the Pier. A quick car ride (quick?! yes!!) will bring you up to Santa Monica. Or, explore the best of Hollywood while coming home to the beach.
The cottage itself is intimate and peaceful, with the best neighbors one could ask for. A mix of families with small children and young professionals, we are a close knit and respectful community.
Amenities include: full kitchen, desk/work space, larger than life flat screen tv, Bose sound stystem, vintage full size tub and shower, shwanky Matteo linens, and of course wireless internet. The master bedroom features a brand new memory foam mattress!
I travel frequently, so please feel free to check the calendar often for times to stay, as I often have to go out of town on a moment's notice. Please send me a note a bit about yourself, as I like to know a bit about the people I host.
I love hosting people in my spaces and have been doing so for years, both with a home in Boulder that stays fully booked as a vacation rental all year, and a previous home in Seattle.
Beach, WIFI, Venice attractions, one parking spot, washer/dryer on site.
It is best to have a car rental in Los Angeles, otherwise cabs and uber are options.
No smoking allowed. Respectful of neighbors!
Megan is a wonderful host. She responded immediately and the house & neighbours are lovely. The house is very homey & clean, everything worked & parking was very nice to have so close to the beach. The only thing is traffic if you are not used to it, but that's Los Angeles :-) We loved being 1 block away from the beach and so close to Santa Monica & the Airport. We highly recommend this cute cottage, much better then staying in an hotel.
Such a great place to stay! Clean, airy, great natural light :) would definitely stay here again
Amazing home in the heart of Venice beach. Felt like a local. Walking distane to everything and biking to near by towns. The ambience of the house was cozy, clean and cheerfully decorated. All directions and assistance were spot on. With no doubt a place to book again for my next visit. A Home away from home. Thanks Megan and Kate!
We absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Megan's beach cottage.
The location is perfect.
Seconds from the beach and a short walk to
The place is just as described and darling.
And Megan (and her asst. Kate) were very helpful.
We hope to stay there again sometime
Place was as advertised. Very stylishly decorated, clean, everything we needed, etc. The only downside for us was that there wasn't a door on the second bedroom and the mattress was uncomfortable in the main bedroom. Other than those two small issues the place was perfectly comfortable and nice.
We stayed at Megan's Venice Beach Cottage over the Canada Day long weekend and were super impressed. The location is fantastic, literally not even a block to the beach and Venice boardwalk. There is a great coffee shop just around the corner, and Abbot Kinney - a funky road with lots of amazing restaurants and quaint shops - is only a 10 minute walk. The cottage itself is adorable. The beds were super comfortable, loved the claw foot tub, and the cottage was super clean. Can not recommend it enough! Thank you Megan, and also a thank you to Megan's assistant Kate, who was great in answering questions and giving us directions.
Working through the reservation process was a breeze. Megan's assistant Kate was very efficient and provided all the information necessary to make our arrival and stay as smooth as possible.
Megan (or her interior decorator) did a great job setting up the apartment. It was truly an oasis. The interior was as restful as you see pictured in this listing. The location is 30-45 seconds from the beach.
However, like many Venice Beach rentals, noise is an issue. The bedroom backs up onto Pacific Ave. so weekend traffic is a concern, as are all the bums rummaging through the garbage cans in the middle of the night. So be sure to bring earplugs.
The parking space was a big plus and one of the reasons we selected this location.
It should also be pointed out that this 'cottage' is in fact one apartment amongst eight in the complex. The houses/buildings are literally an arms length from each other, so don't think this location is a stand-alone house.
Having been to Venice before, we knew what to expect. The street noise was a surprise. All in all I think 3 out of 5 is a fair rating for this location.
