I have 2 different bedrooms for rent. The first bedroom has a bathroom across the hallway and is decorated with all my trinkets from around the world. It has a full bed and cable TV. This room is $80 a night.
The second bedroom has it's own private entrance and bathroom. It has cable TV and you can hear the ocean from the window above the queen bed. This room is for people who want their privacy. I'm usually staying in this room when I'm home so it can only be rented if I'm out of town or if you rent the whole house. This room is $80 a night.
I have boogie boards and beach chairs for guests to use and an outdoor shower.
I am 2 houses from the ocean. If you walk out my back door you'll be on the beach in about one minute. I'm a 20 minute beach or street walk from Downtown Cocoa Beach. The beach near my house is residential (no hotels or condos) and is pretty private. If you want a busier beach, then a short walk up the beach to the bar area is easy. There are many restaurants and bars in downtown, as well as shops to buy souvenirs. A shuttle stop is a minute away that can take you all over the city or to the mainland. Cocoa Beach is about an hour from Orlando and 50 minutes to the airport. I'm about an hour and 20 minutes from Disney and an hour from Universal Parks.
All guest have use of my kitchen and beach chairs.
Interaction with Guests
I'm often out of town for work, so sometimes the guests have the whole house to themselves. When I am home I like to meet and chat with my guests as much as they like. I provide local info for anyone who wants it. If a guest just wants peace and quiet, I respect that and only interact with them if they want.
There is a beach shuttle that stops close to my house that can take you anywhere in Cocoa Beach for about $1.00.
The house is no smoking but smoking OK on back porch. Washer and dryer can be used in moderation. Kitchen is available.
I have maps and guide books for out of town guests.
We enjoyed the stay very much. Andy is a cool guy. The house's location is awesome.
Excellent location and very close to the beach. Andy was very accommodating and responded very quickly whenever I had a question. Room is exactly as described! Great stay.
Great accommodations, just as described. Host (Andy) present when we arrived, knowledgeable about the area (Cocoa Beach), restaurants, local attractions, things to do. Literally a minutes walk to the ocean, never crowded! Beautiful house, clean and roomie. Highly recommend, and would definitely stay there again.
Andy was very accommodating in receiving us very late at night. Our schedule got behind so we didn't get to visit with him, however we appreciated his understanding.
Our stay was very short. The accommodations were convenient and relatively clean.
The bedroom itself faces a busy road that was a bit loud.
The room we stayed in was certainly different. There are many unique (slightly scary looking) objects in it that, if we had more time to talk about them with Andy, might have seemed more benign. However, the stack of porno-esque magazines was not what I would have expected in an open bedside table.
The oddest thing was that there is a dark large floor to ceiling painting which had a picture light above it which illuminated at 3:00am. We discovered that it was attached to a timer.
So between our late arrival (12:30am - ish), the road noise, the self illuminating morose picture, and our early departure, we didn't get much quality sleep.
I hate to leave a review on such a short visit, but that is all we had.
Ginger and her family arrived around midnight and I'm guessing they didn't have time to read my welcoming sheet of paper. If they had they would have know that the light above my painting is a "clapper" light that goes on and off when clapping or loud noises happen. I'm guessing someone in the room was making loud noises at 3 A.M. in order to have the light come on. The "morose" picture is actually a large religious painting of St. Michael which I bought in Mexico. My guest room is filled with objects I've collected from my travels around the world that most guest find interesting and fascinating. I'm sorry that you did not find them interesting. I'm also a photographer and my house is filled with my world photos. The magazines that were in the bedside table (I have now removed them) are photo magazines and other magazines filled with interesting photos and photo ideas. And, yes, some of them have photos of the human body in various stages of undress. I'm a bit surprised that Ginger dug through my drawers and found these magazines that were hidden under some other personal papers. I don't know what she was looking for. Since they are brand new to AirBnB I guess they didn't understand that just because hosts are opening up their homes to guests doesn't mean that they have the right to search thru all their drawers and private matters. This is my home, not a hotel. I expect guests to treat it that way.
Such a wonderful blue house! The location is so near the beach，we do hear and smell the sea in the bedroom. Andy provide us everything we need. We stay here for 8 days and still want to stay longer.
We had great time in this wonderful house. We love his beautiful decoration of his house. He offered all the supplies we need. And it is really convenient walking to beach. Thanks for offer us this beautiful place.
Cette petite maison très sympathique en bord de route est effectivement tte proche de la plage qui elle meme est top. La maison est fonctionnelle, l hote super accueillant bref tres bien. Une terasse ds le jardin est à disposition tt comme les equipements de plage.
