I have 2 different bedrooms for rent. The first bedroom has a bathroom across the hallway and is decorated with all my trinkets from around the world. It has a full bed and cable TV. This room is $80 a night.
The second bedroom has it's own private entrance and bathroom. It has cable TV and you can hear the ocean from the window above the queen bed. This room is for people who want their privacy. I'm usually staying in this room when I'm home so it can only be rented if I'm out of town or if you rent the whole house. This room is $80 a night.
I have boogie boards and beach chairs for guests to use and an outdoor shower.
I am 2 houses from the ocean. If you walk out my back door you'll be on the beach in about one minute. I'm a 20 minute beach or street walk from Downtown Cocoa Beach. The beach near my house is residential (no hotels or condos) and is pretty private. If you want a busier beach, then a short walk up the beach to the bar area is easy. There are many restaurants and bars in downtown, as well as shops to buy souvenirs. A shuttle stop is a minute away that can take you all over the city or to the mainland. Cocoa Beach is about an hour from Orlando and 50 minutes to the airport. I'm about an hour and 20 minutes from Disney and an hour from Universal Parks.
I'm often out of town for work, so sometimes the guests have the whole house to themselves. When I am home I like to meet and chat with my guests as much as they like. I provide local info for anyone who wants it. If a guest just wants peace and quiet, I respect that and only interact with them if they want.
Nice house, so close to the beach, it's great.
This was a wonderful way to start my trip. I could really decompress in this laid back surf community. It as everything I expected
Andy's home is in a terrific location...just a block and a half walk to the ocean and a few minutes drive to grocery stores and restaurants. It was a bit difficult to find in the driving rain, but it is just south of the intersection of 9th and S. Orlando. The big pine tree was a helpful landmark.
Even though the home is located on a main road, it is south of the commercial area and quieter. (Note: If you want to park your car at the beach access - right around the corner from Andy's place - bring some quarters for the meter.)
The home is charming, decorated with Andy's photos and treasures from around the world, yet very tidy. I had the "blue room" with a private bath and a fantastic shower that took some navigating to keep the spray from flying around the room. There's no AC in the bedroom, but with open windows, an ocean breeze and the overhead fan, the temps were comfortable. The back yard is a tropical oasis, and quite private.
The host was out of town during my stay, but I would like to meet him some day. His photos are whimsical and engrossing. He was responsive and helpful in our communications.
Juice N Java is indeed a cool coffee hangout, with live music on weekends. And, if you're in town on a Wednesday, stop by the Pineapple on S. Atlantic and catch the Blues Jam.
Andy's house is the perfect location for being close to the beach and not too far from Cocoa downtown. The room was clean and comfy as was the bathroom and also the garden is a nice feature! Andy gave me a great tip for having breakfast (Juices and Java is a good choice) and was very kind. Would stay there any time again.
Very clean place and good bed and bathroom
I flew to Florida from DC, hoping to rewind a little in between jobs. Choosing to stay with Andy was a great decision. Relaxing at Andy's place comes very easily - not only because it is so close to the beach but also because guests are encouraged to feel at home and enjoy themselves. Being a social person, I appreciated the fact that Andy took the time to chat with me a bit about himself and his work and also ask me about my background. Being a beach lover, I was ecstatic about how easily I could access the beach, about how pristine and beautiful it was, and about how much of it I had to myself. It was exactly what I had hoped for. I also really liked that Andy's place has an outdoor shower, beach chairs, and boogie boards for guest use. I would definitely stay there again!
Andy was the best of Hosts. We went there for part of our honeymoon, and we couldn't have dreamed for a better place.
The room is very clean, as is the bathroom. It is very well decorated, and andy even has set up a tv for his guest.
He was great to speak with he shared great places to go with us. One tip: listen to his pieces of advice.
We will come back without hesitation.
Great guy and really interesting to talk to - even spontaneously organized activities for us. The place is right next to the beach just as advertised and one might not only see turtles but whales also. Highly recommend a stay!
Andy was an awesome host!!! He was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. His home is very nice and decorated with lots of cool items from his trips around the world. Denver and I loved hearing his stories about his trips. The room was perfect and we could not have asked for a better stay! When we are back in the area we will definitely be staying with Andy!
Corresponding with Andy was easy and enjoyable. I love the eclectic world collection of things in the house. It was comfortable and inspiring. The location was ideal for walking to the beach and I loved that it wasn't the at the busiest part of the beach and I had some space when I went over. The price for this space was excellent.
