The kitchen comes fully stocked with everything you need to cook for your group, complemented by stainless steel appliances. Enjoy streaming your favorite shows on 3 Smart TVs (living room, game room, and back bedroom).
LOWER FLOOR:
The lower level offers a multitude of fun game room and arcade style options, as well as additional living space with a sectional couch, TV, and a walkout door to the hot tub and massive yard below the deck.
The hot tub is maintained year-round and open for use 7AM-10PM. Please note that since photos were initially taken, we have built a nice privacy-friendly gazebo around the hot tub!
A fish house stocked with fishing gear, a large counter, and a freezer is available for fish cleaning. Sink can be used via hooking up a hose to the main house.
Swimming right out front may be possible early in the season, but weed growth can limit availability as the lake warms in Summer. However, a public swimming beach is nearby, or you can access the sandbar easily by boat.
Please take note of the boating and dock availability information below, and feel free to ask any questions before booking.
In the Birch Lakes/Chetac Chain area, you'll find 5 boat-up bars and restaurants, some hosting live music. Explore numerous islands, a nearby sandbar perfect for volleyball and relaxation, and excellent fishing opportunities, including right off the dock! Fish species include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Walleye. Winter also offers the opportunity for ice fishing.
The town of Birchwood and Birch Lake offer a plethora of outdoor activities throughout the year, from hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing to ATVing, snowmobiling, boating, and fishing. Birchwood is home to the Bluegill Fest every July, and near Hayward which hosts the annual Birkebeiner cross-country ski marathon in February.
Well-trained pets are welcome with the following guidelines:

- Pets may not be left unsupervised unless crated. If crated, they must remain quiet and not bark.
- Dogs must always be kept on a leash outside the home.
Guests who violate these rules may be subject to fines in addition to the pet fee.

Other things to note
PARKING: Parking is fairly simple on the paved driveway and garage areas. However, during heavy rain or snow seasons, it is advised to have an appropriate vehicle with proper clearance, chains, and/or 4WD that can handle local conditions. I also try to plow the driveway regularly during snow season, but cannot always guarantee. If snow is expected during or around your stay, please use your best judgment and come adequately prepared. The driveway is large and can fairly easily accommodate up to medium-sized RVs or other vehicles towing trailers or boats as well.
GUESTS: Please make sure to mark the correct number of guests (including pets); no additional guests, temporary visitors, or events of any type are permitted. Any guests found in violation of the permitted maximum guest count will be subject to immediate cancellation without refund & subject to fines from the city, in accordance with permitting & local ordinances.
PHOTO/VIDEO: No professional filming or photography is permitted.
NOISE: Out of respect for my neighbors, please keep noise levels at a respectable volume at all times, and refrain from using amplified media outdoors. Voices, music, or noise of any kind should not be audible beyond the property line. If you're looking for a place to party, this is not the home for you.
QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 7 AM, including inside the home, as sound travels easily in the area.
SMOKING/VAPING: Smoking or vaping of any substance is not permitted inside the home. You may smoke outside as long as any ash, butts, or other debris are disposed of properly.
PETS: Well-trained pets are allowed. No pets are permitted on furniture (especially couches/beds). Any excessive shedding or messes/waste must be cleaned up. Pets may not be left unsupervised unless crated. If crating your pet, please ensure that they don’t bark. The pet fee does not cover additional cleaning or damages caused by pets. Pets MUST be leashed at all times when outside. There is a dog run in the backyard that you may use if you wish.
DOCK: The dock is seasonal & is generally available late March to early October, depending on weather. Between those times it is removed, as the lake is often frozen or in the freezing process. There is room for one boat when the dock is the water.
KAYAKS: Kayaks are provided for seasonal use and generally recommended only when the dock is in place, but can be launched from the shore. Boat use is at your own risk and liability; children should always be accompanied by adults and anyone participating is encouraged to wear a life jacket.
PLEASE NOTE: Guests should prepare for a cabin-style stay. Most creature comforts are provided, and the town has anything you might need! However, preparation in advance for self-sufficiency is always advised. Inclement seasonal weather, local animals, and occasional insects are all part of this area and should be expected. Local businesses sometimes close early, so planning ahead is always best.
