The space
We aim to create the quintessential Ballarat experience by having developed a miners cottage into a well designed and solar powered environment.
Our high quality bedding and linen are a feature most praised by our clients. The master bedroom suite comprising an ensuite and walk-in robe is accessed via a Victorian archway and can be separated by velvet curtain. An antique chinoiserie screen plus the English imported 1856 solid brass bed completes the room as a unique and restful retreat.
The second bedroom has its own library of books, built in robe and TV / DVD. The bed is Australian made in 1900 and is Federation in style.
The house has a air purifier to extract dust and particles from the air. We supply a stand-up garment steamer for special event clothing, coffee machine, washing machine and dryer.
The main bathroom includes a full size bath, separate shower, hand basin and toilet.
The cottage has a split system air conditioner, four heat banks and a wood fire in the lounge room which creates a country ambiance and additional warmth on very cold days.
The 3D DVDs on the large TV is a lot of fun. Plus the well appointed kitchen has a supply of standard condiments and is complemented by a coal fired BBQ / oven in a private back garden which is terraced and decked for outside entertaining.

Guest access
With off-street parking and front and back access the whole environment is perfect for inside outside entertaining.

Other things to note
A short stroll to all that Ballarat has to offer and round the corner from some of the most unique retro vintage shops and cafes, ‘Artisan’ is a Victorian cottage situated in the most historic area of the town.

'ARTISAN' cottage is situated in one of the oldest parts of the town. The 15 minute walk into town, accessed via the Grant street foot bridge and Lydiard street, passes Ballarat's main heritage sites such as Her Majesties Theatre and the Art Gallery.
Opposite our accommodation cottage is the original farm homestead dating back to 1860. Going further back in time there are ancient sacred grounds near by which are part of the Yarrawee Creek reserve.
'ARTISAN' was originally a miners cottage built in the 1870s.

I love creating experiences for people that are fun and exciting. The design of 'ARTISAN' cottage has been a ten year process and is a product of my love for the unique charms inherent in Ballarat historic homes. Separate but within the grounds of the property I have converted the old stables, as a space that is home for all my creative projects. My love of travel means I take great pride in being an AIRBNB host and creating a home stay, that helps you to fully experience the unique charms of Ballarat.
