More details:
In our 3 bed / 3 bath house we have a private guest bedroom with queen size bed, a desk with access to wireless Internet, a 25in. TV with cable and on-demand streaming movies and TV shows, and a private bathroom in the hallway right outside the room. The master bed and bath where we stay is on the 2nd floor and you would have the guest room and guest bath on the 1st floor.

You are welcome to use the shared living spaces (living room, dining room, office, kitchen, rec room and bar, laundry, patio, porch, etc.). There is off-street parking available in our driveway (don't worry about blocking us in or getting blocked in - we have a HUGE driveway suitable for two guest vehicles) and always plenty of free on-street parking in our quiet neighborhood.

We have two elderly cats that are very friendly and low-key. We keep them out of sleeping areas and the rec room at all times due to allergies (I am allergic to cats, so I do my best to keep the rest of the house very clean as well).

We want to make your stay even more comfortable than a hotel, so just ask us for anything that you need! You'll find all the conveniences you can imagine within walking distance of our house - parks, restaurants, a movie theater, shopping, groceries, pubs, sushi bar, ice cream parlor, fast food - you name it, it's right around the corner - just check the Guidebook I created for the listing! If you want to eat out or keep food in the house, there are numerous grocery stores, restaurants, and pubs within walking distance, and plenty of room in the refrigerator.

We are in a pleasant neighborhood which is very centrally located with easy access to all the major highways in Cincinnati (minutes from I-71, I-75, Cross County Highway, the Norwood Lateral, and I-275). There is a public bus system, but Cincinnati tends to be more of a driver's city with the following attractions accessible by car in under 30 minutes:
---Downtown in less than 20 minutes during non rush hours, 25-35 minutes during rush hour
---King's Island amusement park, water park, and resort, is less than a 20 minute drive to the north
---The Newport Aquarium is a 25 minute drive to the south, just across the Ohio River
---The Freedom Center, multiple art museums and historic landmarks, and the Reds & Bengals stadiums are all within a 20 minute drive during non rush hour times

  • Remi was a gracious and accommodating host. The bedroom and the bathroom were comfortable and clean. Needing off-street parking for my vintage car, Remi offered his driveway for cleaning and his garage for storing. It doesn't get much better than that. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Cincinnati at Remi's house.

  • Remi was a great host. I can't say anything bad about my stay. Super comfortable bed, great shower, and a cool house in a nice neighborhood. And his home brewed beer was impressive. I will be back.

  • Exactly as advertised, and this was a wonderful stay! Jillian and Remi have a beautiful home and obviously care about making guests feel comfortable.
The room is comfortable, the neighborhood is great, and this made for a fabulous place to base while I was visiting the city.

    Response from Remi:

Sorry about that David, I had a box in there but it must have run out. I have remedied the situation!

  • This was a very nice, clean space. Remi was a very nice host and an interesting person to talk with.

  • Remi's home and room was the quintessential experience, everything that AirBnB hopes to do with connecting willing hosts and travelers. My wife and I were in town for the marathon and the bed was very comfortable, helping me get the pre-race rest I would need. The colors and decor are warm and inviting, and Remi is very professional, courteous, and kind.

  • Nice People

    Comfy place.

Everything you need in a spotless mid-50s house, quiet but freeway close to everything in historic Cincinnati

  • Lovely house, lovely host and lovely neighbourhood. It's my first time in the USA coming from England and travelling alone. Although Jillian was away during my stay, both her and Remi communicated extremely well and were very helpful with the booking and travelling stage. Remi is a really easy-going host despite arriving hopelessly late due to a delayed flight I felt welcome and at ease. A couple of days into my trip I hurt my foot and had to go to the hospital. Remi was very supportive and took me there. I am grateful to him for making my stay much less complicated than it could have been. The house itself is great, well decorated, plenty of space and really clean and comfortable (especially the bed) with plenty of classic suburban charm. The neighbours are all warm and friendly and the location is within easy reach of everything. Remi really does brew beer in the back yard! Fantastic.

Laboratory Services Manager
I have been hosting great guests through for over three years now and always enjoy meeting new people, but also like that many come back to stay! I have a background in biochemistry and work as the Laboratory Services Manager for the North American HQ of a German commodities company here in Cincinnati, OH. I enjoy that Cincinnati's brewing heritage has seen a recent resurgence and would be happy to direct you to some great local places to check out excellent beer and great food. If I have homebrew that is ready to drink then I am happy to share a pint or two over good conversation. I also stay active by playing on multiple men's league ice hockey teams year round, and hit the golf links when I have spare time. Electronic music is my go-to, but I can appreciate other forms of music too. I am Libertarian which means (in a nutshell) that I respect any way you choose to live your life so long as you don't harm or defraud anyone else in the process - this extends to personal freedoms as well as economic freedoms - live and let live. I look forward to meeting you!
