The 70 square meter appartment has the rich wooden floor and the high ceilings which are so typical for berlin buildings from the early twentieth century.
The main bedroom is furnished with a large double bed (160 x 200) and one of our favourite design classics, the modular couch Cor Trio.
The second bedroom provides a double bed (140 x 200) and two 70ies sideboards, both suitable for stowing away things and sitting.
The kitchen is equipped with a basic selection of spices, oil, vinegar, an espressomachine including espresso, a toaster, a refridgerator and oven and a dishwasher. Here you find the dining area as well as the lounge area with sofa and flatscreen tv.
The bathroom has shower and tub, a hairdryer is provided.
Our accomodation is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Berlin, in a lively side-street of the popular Kastanienallee with its small bars, Restaurants, galleries and second-hand-shops, right in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg. Living only a few meters away from the Mauerpark you have the possibility for a relaxed stroll over one of the most interestig fleemarkets in Belin. The public transportation makes it possible to reach all the interesting sites of the city within 5 to 15 minutes, no matter if Alexanderplatz, Reichstag, or checkpoint charlie

We had a nice stay in the apartment, which has a perfect location in Prenzlauer Berg. My communication with Lulu prior to arrival was fine and there was no problem with late night check-in.
Great appartment in a fantastic neighbourhood. Very close to restaurants, café's, cultural hotspots and boutiques. It's also very close to the Mauerpark, where a giant flea market is held every Sunday. The appartment itself is indeed gorgeous and spacious, with 2 big bedrooms and a small livingroom. The kitchen is basic, but OK. The dish washer was out of order, unfortunately. Wifi was great, and the appartment also has cable TV (and a DVD player), for those of you who can't do without TV. The contact with the hosts was fine, although we didn't get to meet them personally. All in all, a very nice place to stay when in Berlin. Would definitely recommend and come back!
We had a great stay at Lulu and Mieke's apartment with no problems. Check in went fine, and we were also able to check out late. The apartment is in a great location close to many places to eat and drink (our favourite place for breakfast was Cafe Krone, down the street to the right)! We'd happily stay there again.
We had a very good time in Lulu and Mieke's appartment.
It is nicely decorated, comfortable and there is plenty of room, epecially in the bedrooms. The street where it's located is particularly lively, nice restaurants and bars and original stores - and very close to Kulturfabrik, Mauerpark, Kollwitz - market and so on.
Perfect for us!
This was our very first experience with Airbnb and it was great! The apartment was just as listed and pictured, and the bedrooms were very spacious (much larger than expected). It is in a great area--the former Berlin wall just at the end of the block and very close to Mauerpark. There were several great little restaurants nearby that had fantastic food at very reasonable prices. We had to park a few blocks away, but it wasn't a problem. We felt like we got more of a local feel than staying at a hotel, which really enriched our visit to Berlin. We highly recommend this property to others!
We really enjoyed our trip to Berlin. The initial contact with Lulu was great, she was very quick to reply to questions and super friendly. The apartment is just as you would expect it to be from the photos and description, light, spacious and quirky with most of what you would need for a long weekend stay. The location in particular is wonderful - on a great street with plenty of cafes/bars and restaurants and very close to the city centre.
On the negative side, on arrival there was what I thought was a friendly welcome note - but in fact it was a note telling us to 'keep the apartment clean' with a list of instructions on how to leave the the place. Being a host myself I found this fairly unfriendly and unnecessary especially considering there were aspects of the apartment which were not very clean (a rusty dish dryer next to the sink and pistachio shells under the sofa), also the dishwasher advertised in the post was not working - perhaps something that could have been mentioned in the correspondence.
I also tried to contact Lulu as our check out circumstances had changed, but received no reply.
Despite these minor problems, we really enjoyed our stay.

Me (dark hair) and my friend Mieke (blond hair) have been friends for ages. We both love traveling - we hitch-hiked the pan american highway from Canada to Brasil when we were 20 (our mothers hated it!) - and we want to offer our guests a "home away from home" how we would like it.
Both of us think that not only the sight-seeing highlights like Brandenburg gate are interesting, but also the normal districts, the houses and streets are of major importance for getting an insight view of the city. This is the advantage of a vacation rental.
We hope that all our guests are happy with their stay and are always happy to help - except too late at night of course : )
See you in Berlin,
Lulu & Mieke
