My apartment is a spacious 2nd floor with two bedrooms, one bath, kitchen, dining and living room.
The PRIVATE bedroom I'm offering in this listing has one twin bed, dresser and blanket chest & chair (see pics) + hall closet.
••I'm now accepting requests from students AND teachers who will be attending local colleges and are looking for a cozy place for the winter term. $757 a month covers ALL!••
I have one bath (shared). It has an open floor plan that provides privacy for my guests, is fully furnished and has a cozy atmosphere. The sunny dining area seats four, perfect for a continental breakfast. I provide coffee, muffins and yogurt in the morning. The kitchen is available for you to prepare a meal or if you just need the fridge to store water & snacks.
The house on Carroll Ave. is in a great location less than 1/2 a mile from Ocean Drive. It is near 3 open parks, a tennis court and is walking distance to the village, the Cliff Walk and Easton Beach. It's only a stone's throw to Fort Adams if you want to be here for summer concerts!! It's also a great area for bike riding (not congested) and has easy street parking. You're a quick walk to Thames St. with it's quaint shops, great dining and harbor front treasures. You are also walking distance to the grandeur of the mansions on Bellevue Avenue.
After Memorial day there are ALL types of festivals (almost) every weekend that continue right thru the holidays!!! The village of Newport is bustling in the summer but there ARE secret get-a-ways and there's ALWAYS something to do.

I stayed with Pamela for a friend's wedding in Newport. Pamela was an amazing host! I felt really comfortable in her cozy home. I was a little worried since I have cat allergies with long-haired cats, but the kitties actually didn't bother me at all. The room was very clean and free of cat hair. Pamela made me a really nice breakfast. She was nonintrusive and respectful of my alone time, but she also had lots of good stories to share when I was in the mood. It was like a home away from home! Thanks Pamela!
Clean, comfortable room, in a quiet neighborhood. Ample street parking. Bonus that Pamela is a very nice lady. Fairly close to the sights in Newport, I think - although I was there for other reasons so not totally sure.
Pamela was a great host and her place is cute. She lives in a convenient location for getting around Newport. She provided some tasty snacks in the morning. I highly recommend staying with her!
The room was just as advertised...a terrific little room. I loved that it was surrounded on three sides by windows, so it was more like a sleeping porch. It is a twin bed, so perfect for one person, but not large enough for a couple, unless they don't mind being crowded.
Pamela was welcoming, but also non-obtrusive. She had muffins, yogurt and coffee ready for me in the morning.
It's located in a quiet residential area. It's about a mile easy walk down Thames Street into the harbor area and there are some nice restaurants along the way.
If I were to return by myself, I would stay there again.
Pamela is very sweet. Her place is about a 10 minute walk from where the shops start on Thames. I was waiting for friend's to pick me up and it was not a problem at all with Pamela that I was there til 2PM getting ready for the wedding and waiting for my lift. You must like cats if you stay here, she has four! Oh, and I didn't realize she'd made breakfast in the morning (yogurt, bagel, coffee, juice), which she kept for me when I'd gone out for a run.
One of my best experience first time using Airbnb, Pamela is just a sweetheart and very helpful. The room was perfect, clean, comfortable, has AC and just right for what I needed.
The best part was that this place is so close to downtown that if you want you can do everything by walking distance.
I felt very comfortable staying at this place and the privacy was great. I will definitely recommend it to anybody!
I'm planning to come back again.
This was my first Airbnb stay and it was great. I stayed with Pamela in Aug for the Newport Celtic Rock Festival. The room is cute and comfortable. The location is awesome - 5 minute walk to the start of the strip, ~15 - 20 min walk to the festival. There are 4 adorable cats but they stay out of your bedroom - no cat smells or anything like that. Pamela prepared a nice little breakfast with fresh fruit and bagels. Safe and comfortable - everything was perfect!
Pamela is such a sweet host. She is being very considerate and helpful. I am fond of her decoration at home. Very classic, lovely and cozy. I also appreciate her respect of my privacy. And she is so good at making ribbons.
I am from Hong Kong. And I really enjoyed staying with Pamela. She is so easy going. She has everything I need including hair dryer and even iron. This American experience is very unforgettable. Bagal, muffin &, fresh fruit are so good too.
I stayed with Pamela in late July 2012 and I couldn't recommend her and her place more. The room was clean and comfortable. Pamela is kind and very accommodating. I would recommend her to any of my friends and family.
Pamela was a wonderful host and made us feel at home right away. The location is perfect - walkable to the Thames St area, but just away enough to be totally peaceful and very quiet. She provided a wonderful breakfast and was very accommodating should we have had any special needs (though we really just needed a place to sleep and shower, so I hope we were fairly low maintenance guests!). Her 3 cats added just the right charm to her cozy and very spacious apartment.
