About this listing

Dromforde offers you a beauty and style. Dromforde gives you the privacy of 2 very comfortable bedrooms, private shower room and WC, sitting room/dining room with wood burning stove and with your own private entrance, as well we are around to help in any way we can. Perfect for vacation or a work visit with open WiFi access. We are, of course, on the 'very best' part of the Wild Atlantic Way.
There is Nespresso coffee making and tea making but I'm afraid there are no cooking facilities.

The Space

Dromforde is truly a place to pause and tarry awhile, relax, breathe and let Ireland come to you. You will enjoy the real experience of an original West Cork Farmhouse in exceptional style and charm surrounded by the beautiful furnishings gathered by Brigid and Bill through a life's work in design and decor. We are just a family house but offer you part of our beautiful home. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Dromforde has been sympathetically restored with its exposed beams and low ceilings maintaining its integral history and character.

We Have been featured in both '25 Most Beautiful Homes' and House and Homes' magazines.

You will have a separate entrance and stair case to your own private landing giving off to one room in which we can either give you a double bed (6' wide) or twin beds and another beautiful little single bedroom. This room will be ideal for a third member of your group, or a child. Between these rooms is the shower and WC. We only let the rooms together

You have your own private sitting / dining room with wood burning stove to relax in after your day out seeing what this lovely part of Ireland has to offer, this is where we serve you breakfast.

Sadly we now realize that the architectural age of Dromforde does not make it a safe place for crawling babies or Toddlers.

We have had guests from all over the world and really welcome the mix of ideas and cultures they bring to us

We both enjoy cooking and eating and will promise you a good breakfast with the very best fresh fruit salad, fresh coffee or tea, our home made bread, marmalade and preserves with, of course, our own Dromforde honey and eggs from our own Dromforde Chickens!

You can also have locally produced bacon, sausages with our own eggs (€7) or a platter of our lovely gluten free Buttermilk Pancakes with grilled crispy streaky bacon with maple syrup (€7). What better way to start the day!

While we have two dogs and two cats we promise you wont see them unless you want to! At all times we keep them out of the areas we use for our guests. If you suffer from associated pet allergies, sadly we might not be the best place for you to stay.

Hope to see you and welcome you to Dromforde
Brigid and Bill

We love this area and we love living with the history of a West Cork farmhouse. We enjoy walking with our dog and nothing 'detoxes' the mental system and feeds the spirit better than a walk on a wild, stormy beach.
Living in the countryside puts us in touch with the passing of the seasons and the beautiful, ever changing, range of colours on the hills in front of Dromforde tell the time of the year to us.
Bill plays Golf at Bantry, the most friendly club you couild wish for and with views to die for.
We both garden, Bill tends to do the planting while Brigid does the weeding but we both share the pleasure of eating all the fruit and veg that we grow. We hope that you will enjoy our garden while you stay with us.

We keep bees and our chickens give the eggs for your breakfast!

Brigid is an avid reader while Bill is the typical 'Shed man', mending making or just tinkering in his workshop.

We both wish to welcome you to Dromforde will try and give you the very best time while being our guest in Dromforde.
