Dromforde offers you beauty and style. While Dromforde offers you your own appartment space we are only a B and B. Dromforde gives you the privacy of 2 very comfortable bedrooms, private shower room and WC, sitting room/dining room with wood burning stove, with your own private entrance. There are beautiful gardens. We are around to help in any way we can. Perfect for vacation or a work visit with open WiFi access.
There is Nespresso coffee and tea making, there are no cooking facilities.

The space

Dromforde is truly a place to pause and tarry awhile, relax, breathe and let Ireland come to you. We hope you will enjoy the real experience of an original West Cork Farmhouse in exceptional style and charm surrounded by the beautiful furnishings gathered by Brigid and Bill through a life's work in design and decor. We are just a family house but offer you part of our beautiful home. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do.We are of course on the very best part of the Wild atlantic Way!

Dromforde has been sympathetically restored with its exposed beams and low ceilings maintaining its integral history and character.

We Have been featured in both '25 Most Beautiful Homes' and House and Homes' magazines which featured the house and gardens.

You will have a separate entrance and stair case to your own private landing giving off to one room in which we can either give you a double bed (6' wide) or twin beds and another beautiful little single bedroom. This room will be ideal for a third member of your group, or a child. Between these rooms is the shower and WC. We only let the rooms together

You have your own private sitting / dining room with wood burning stove to relax in after your day out seeing what this lovely part of Ireland has to offer, this is where we serve you breakfast until 10am.

Sadly we now realize that the architectural age of Dromforde does not make it a safe place for crawling babies or Toddlers.

We have had guests from all over the world and really welcome the mix of ideas and cultures they bring to us

We both enjoy cooking and eating and will promise you a good breakfast with the very best fresh fruit salad, fresh coffee or tea, our home made bread, marmalade and preserves with, of course, our own honey.

You can also have locally produced bacon, sausages with our own eggs (€7) or a platter of our lovely gluten free Buttermilk Pancakes with grilled crispy streaky bacon with maple syrup (€7). What better way to start the day!

While we have two dogs and two cats we promise you wont see them unless you want to! At all times we keep them out of the areas we use for our guests. If you suffer from associated pet allergies, sadly we might not be the best place for you to stay.

Hope to see you and welcome you to Dromforde
Brigid and Bill

Guest access

You have your own front door. There is a sitting room/ dining room with wood burning stove all for your private use. 2 Bedrooms (1 twin/double and 1 single, but only ever let as a whole) and bathroom off your own private landing for your use only.
I am sorry but we have no wheel chair access to the bedrooms as the house is very old and has been restored in it's original style..

Interaction with guests

We are available all the time but leave our guests to their own privacy. We need to make sure that our guests have what they need and will be delighted to share our knowledge of the area so they can make the most of their stay with us.

Other things to note

There is a good selection of restaurants nearby (We can help you book tables in the holiday season, July and August) and we will happily drive you in so you can enjoy that very good bottle of wine.

I found it, the perfect little cottage to return to every day after exploring the breathtakingly beautiful countryside of West Cork. The farm is truly picturesque and then Brigid and Bill add their special touch of hospitality that is unparalleled. Bill was so kind as to share his and Brigid's favorite places to go in Barley Cove and Crookhaven after my journey to Mizen Head. Truly lovely people. Amazing dog.

Dromforde, the home of Brigid and Bill, is a warm exquisitely furnished space. It is a reflection of their professional lives spent in design and decor. Every detail is taken care of. You have complete and private use of a large living dining area along with bedroom and private bathroom. In daylight hours, a light airy interior ambience provide an uplift to any inclement weather outsides; a blazing fire conveying atmosphere in the evening with no distracting noise of neighbours or traffic. Well removed from the main road their home is still easy to find up a bucolic boreen. If it does happen to rain during your stay, the soft sound of rainfall on the rooftop is audible as you drift off to sleep in the bedroom. Every detail has a quiet luxury to it, the bed linen, the breakfast presentation...the morning weather print outs placed on the dining table. The morning dining options are endless, home made/local-sourced and bountiful. The rich garden environment allows for time spent out doors should you decide to not venture far. Bill and Brigit have obviously put considerable thought into what constitutes hospitality. Conversation, tea and biscuits await your arrival...should you care for it; otherwise you will be undisturbed in these beautiful environs for the rest of your evening. Make no mistake about it, Brigid and Bill's airbnb offering constitues a quality at a price point that is rare, this is not hyperbole. Understandably during the summer season they do not have many unbooked nights. If you see availability you really should not hestitate for a second to book nights at Dromforde.

What a delightful place and couple. We arrived around 5 P.M. and found we were to stay in our own little apartment. The apartment has a nice living room, dinning room on the first floor and right outside the door there is a beautiful flower garden, and upstairs a small hallway, and the most comfortable bedroom and bathroom. The place is clean and elegantly decorated. Our experience was relaxing and made more wonderful by the kindness and wonderful conversation offered by Bridgit and Bill. We highly recommend this woderful place and people.

Brigid and Bill were amazing hosts! Bill went more than the extra mile to help us find an authentic local music venue happening in the vicinity, even though we arrived rather late and it was a Monday evening... Thank you Bill! Breakfast was absolutely amazing---everything was delicious ---the homemade jams and creamy honey were just superb! We just loved our stay---wish it could have been longer! These two hosts know the area so well and were an absolute delight to talk with!

Thanks Maile It was lovely to have you George and of course your enchanting daughter Wilder to stay. Thank you for being so much fun for us. When you come again the shower instructions are now on the wall! Thanks for that as it is so easy to take for granted what one already knows and that it is the same for others. We hope that you come our way again for some more music! best wishes to you all Bill and Brigid

Bill and Brigid could not have been more welcoming, gracious and helpful. Bill even drove out to guide us the last miles up the country road to the house. Then he made our dinner reservations before the kitchen's closed. They were both thinking of everything to make it a great stay.

The journey to find this BnB is worth the trip. Brigid and Bill are the type of welcoming guests that make you thankful you made the drive to a place you aren't familiar with. They welcomed us with tea, books to read about the area, a wholesome breakfast, and suggestions that aren't found on a website. We will definitely come back to visit, this welcoming house (and the very local honey) is something not to miss around the Bantry area.

We love this area and we love living with the history of a West Cork farmhouse. We enjoy walking with our dog and nothing 'detoxes' the mental system and feeds the spirit better than a walk on a wild, stormy beach.
Living in the countryside puts us in touch with the passing of the seasons and the beautiful, ever changing, range of colours on the hills in front of Dromforde tell the time of the year to us.
Bill plays Golf at Bantry, the most friendly club you couild wish for and with views to die for.
We both garden, Bill tends to do the planting while Brigid does the weeding but we both share the pleasure of eating all the fruit and veg that we grow. We hope that you will enjoy our garden while you stay with us.

We keep bees and our chickens give the eggs for your breakfast!

Brigid is an avid reader while Bill is the typical 'Shed man', mending making or just tinkering in his workshop.

We both wish to welcome you to Dromforde will try and give you the very best time while being our guest in Dromforde.
