Hi, there! I am offering out the spare bedroom in my spacious 3 bedroom townhouse in Dover, DE. The space is open concept with lots of room all about. I have a minimalist style, so there is very little furniture through. I just moved into the house earlier this year out of a one bedroom apartment and I am in various stages of painting/decorating all the rooms in the house. You may see paint samples painted on various walls during you stay. I will update this listing as I change things to give you a better understanding of the current state of the house.
About the room:
The available bedroom is located on the second floor and furnished with a queen sized bed and a night stand. If more than two are staying I can provide a futon mattress. Sheets and towels are provided. Outside of the bedroom is a full bath, shared with the second bedroom. Currently the second bedroom is missing carpet and not being used so you will have the second floor bathroom all to yourself until I replace the carpet to rent out this room as well.
About the place:
The townhouse is two stories and nearly 2200 square feet located in the back of a business complex off Silver Lake. The property is part of a six unit townhouse and surrounded by trees in the front and Silver Lake in the back. The street dead end's so there is little to no traffic all day long. There is only one parking space available for guests.
On the first floor is eat-in kitchen with breakfast bar, (I cook a little and have some pots and pan and odds and ends), a dinning room (no table currently), a open concept living/dining room with a TV with Xbox, with a open wooden staircase light with two skylights leading to the second floor. Off the living room is a enclosed sun room with a view of Silver Lake.
On the second floor there is a laundry room with washer and dryer, three bedrooms, two on the front side of the house and the master on the opposite side. The guest room is the first room to your right after you come up the stairs. The second bedroom currently without carpet and unoccupied) and the master which I use as my bedroom.
Neighborhood, Shops and More.
My townhouse is located in Downtown Dover. Public transportation is available ( There is a bus stop about a block away ), driving or a taxi ride is you best bet to seeing all Dover has to offer. There are a few places within a couples miles if your OK with walking as well.
If you looking for food, McGlynn's Pub and restaurant is .75 miles away and only a 15 minute walk. If your looking for entertainment Dover Downs Casino and Monster mile track is only 1.8 miles away and 2.3 miles away from were the Firefly festival is located behind Dover Downs. During race week, I suggest walking as parking is limited and the half hour walk is certainly quicker and cheaper. During Firefly if you are adventurous you can walk as well, but if you are in a hurry, I would suggest a cab.
In the heart of Dover there are also four bars W.T. Smithers, Golden Fleece, Irish Mikes, Fraisers and restaurant 33 west all within one to two blocks if you head south about 1.8 miles. Taking a taxi costs about $10 or it's about a half hour walk.
3 night minimum booking during special events like FireFly and Nascar.
If you are looking for accommodation for 4 people, be on the lookout for my other listing. It will house a bunk bed with room for extra sleepers on the floor.

My girlfriend and I traveled across the country to attend some music in Delaware and ended up staying at Manny's place. We weren't sure what to expect here but it was a great townhouse with views of the river and a clean room. Manny was super accommodating and even helped us with some transportation and local knowledge. We'd definitely come back and also made friends with the host himself. Perhaps, he'll visit us on the west coast!
I've spent a lot of time to get where I am in life now, it's been a long journey but it's not over yet. I want to enjoy my hard work for as long as I can. I've just recently passed two milestones, bought my first house and I just graduated with my Masters. Now I'd looking for my next challenge in life.
