Access to the deck is only from the family room, which is owner's work space, and not common area. The photos show the room at its best, and we are giving you notice that is the most "lived in" room, meaning not always at its best! Jerry is social when working; Jamie is not.

We discourage tiny cattle (ants) to come inside, and recently had the house treated. Crumbs on the kitchen counter have the same effect, but at least you won't be sleeping there!
Dark liquids (coffee red wine) spilled, must be tended to immediately, so please do not carry them around the house. If you forget and spill, please tell us IMMEDIATELY. If we can remove the stain, there is no charge. If we have it professionally removed, it will be at the cost of having the whole floor's carpet cleaned.
PLEASE WEAR SOCKS in the house, no shoes. If you need socks, just let us know. We have gazillions and lots of bleach to sterilize them.
OUR FAMILY ROOM is mostly for our use when we are present. Our other guests use our family room, by invitation, and it is not EVER to be used as a sleeping area!
COOK IN OUR KITCHEN! Jerry has every cooking implement known to man. If you are going to be around on a night when Jerry is cooking anyway, he or you might suggest incorporating your meal into ours and letting him cook for all of us. Or you could make the same offer as long as Jamie's dinner is pepper-less, curry-less and cilantro-less. Be advised, sometimes Jerry is too tired to cook even for Jamie. He does make really amazing food, however.
If you prefer to cook yourself without combining meals, that is fine, too. PLEASE DO NOT PLAN ON TAKING OVER THE KITCHEN FOR MORE THAN 60 MINUTES! If you are part of a large group and have never cooked for a large group, Jerry will want (and need) to help you be efficient in your cooking so we and other guests can eat as well. Jerry is experienced in a professional kitchen and large group preparation.
Please clean up after yourself IMMEDIATELY after your meal, please don't wait until the morning, or you may lose kitchen privilidges.
IF YOU SEE OUR DIRT and/or don't think something is clean enough already, please let us know and we will clean more. We won't be offended. You are paying for clean. Your standards may be higher than ours and it is our job to meet yours. Just give us a chance to correct a problem. We will be unhappy if you down grade our star rating for cleanliness, without ever having said anything about it and allowing us an opportunity to correct the problem.
WITH ONE REFRIGERATOR we ask that you share the space with consideration for our other guests as well as us. Please bring an ICE CHEST if you have a lot of extra food. Jamie is highly sensitive to smell, so please ask before you cook anything that might have lingering odors, or bring home highly odoriferous take out food, expecting to eat or store it here.
If you shower, please use your bath towel to dry down the shower for the next person, who may not be in your party. Or you can spray with shower spray, on all walls doors and fixtures. You liked having it clean, right?
Dirty laundry goes in the basket in the hallway or on the laundry room floor. Please don't leave wet towels in your room or bathroom. Let's discuss a plan that works for both of us.
If you are showering before 8:30 in the morning please shower in the downstairs bath, especially if the India room is occupied.
Towels are plentiful under the cabinets (always closest to the entry when there are multiple cabinets). We have tons of towels, so please let the decorator towels remain a decoration.
Laundry is available, but please ask before using so we can give you instructions on our front loader. We do not do your personal laundry for you.
WE ARE IN A DROUGHT! PLEASE BE MINDFUL! We will want to insert ourselves, into your laundry plans as a result. When you shower, which you are allowed to do on your own, lol, please do not use more water pressure than you need, and make sure the water is completely turned off. We especially ask that you do not use the dual heads simultaneously, or have multiple people over 5 in the shower at one time.
The downstairs bathroom is supplied with skin care samples, and lots of other fun goodies for girls and metro guys. Feel free to try our stuff. There should be cotton balls, pads and q tips for application. You may also use the house body and hair shampoos, lotions etc. which are in the shower. If we don't want it used, we won't leave it where you can access it. The exception is my husband's hair brush if he forgets to put it away, as well as razors. Please ask for toothpaste, etc, rather than using ours. We do have new personal care items available for which you can reimburse us.
If you leave your own stuff in the ladies room, other ladies may think it is Jamie's and try it. We recommend storing your personal items in your own room.
We will be happy to share our wifi, which is the most powerful available. If you have access to one of our computers in your room, please don't open attachments or go to adult sites, or anything else you know to be risky in terms of computer viruses. You can watch rented movies on the computer if you like if there are speakers. Redbox is 5 minutes away.
PLEASE DO NOT GREET OUR DOG, BLIZZARD, WITH OPEN HANDS. HE SEES THIS AS THREATENING!!!!
PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE DOG ANYTHING! He is on a special diet and his food is timed to establish his role in our family, and because he was just recently ill from eating the wrong foods. He is a service dog for Jamie, but he is Jerry's dog in his heart. He is not always the friendliest dog in the world, but he is extremely well behaved. Women with high pitched voices who wave their hands near his face, are threatening to him. He has responded to threatening behavior with his own.
On a rather gross note, Blizzard seeks protein, so don't leave protein in the garbage cans on the floor. Either keep the garbage stored off the floor OR deposit feminine and um, uh, latex products in the trash compactor in the kitchen.
Our main request is that if you need something, that you TELL US, and if we can, we will provide it. If there is a problem, please TELL US in the moment and we will certainly do our best to fix it!
WE WATCH OUR STARS so we can tell when they change!!! A negative review in stars has FAR more impact than negative words, but we don't especially like negative verbal reviews either. Please be mindful that this is our business, not a hobby and we are dependent on our guests' good intentions when booking and when reviewing us.
Hopefully you will have a great stay and give us a great review when you are done.
Jerry and Jaime are really nice. It's a good experience staying with them!
Me and my girlfriend had a fantastic time staying with Jamie and Jerry! They are both wonderful hosts (along with their adorable dog, Blizzard), and made us feel at home right away. Their house is beautiful, and the room was just as pictured, very clean, etc.
Not only was the space accommodating, but Jamie and Jerry helped us plan and book our day trip to different vineyards along Silverado Trail and Route 29 in wine country. Their recommendations were spot on, and we had an incredible experience.
Also, did we mention Jerry's breakfast?! Piles of delicious homemade waffles, fresh fruit salad, local coffee, truly truly amazing. Would totally recommend staying with Jamie and Jerry if you're looking for a warm and comfortable room in the area!
Great stay at Jerry and Jamie's beautiful and comfy home. Not far from Napa, so it makes a great place to stay after wine tasting all day. Jerry's waffles were the highlight of our stay! You'd be hard pressed to find better breakfast in a hotel. Just like staying with old friends!
My stay actually started before I even arrived, when Jerry called me to advise me on how to get there via the least busy, traffic-heavy route. That consideration for me characterized the rest of my stay. Jerry was a very warm, knowledgable and welcoming host. I brought bread, cheese and wine, and Jerry was kind enough to arrange it for me on a plate while sharing some of their own fruit with a delicious balsamic reduction. Let it be known: the man can cook. The whole wheat waffles (he makes his own batter!) with fruit salad (featuring persimmons fresh off the tree) for breakfast are to die for. I had to leave early, but Jerry had dinner on the table before 8 am. I know nearly nothing about wine, and he eagerly shared his knowledge. Aside from food, the room was clean, darling and very cozy. There's a fluffy bathrobe included for your use, along with a number of cosmetic products (lotions, creams) in the downstairs bathroom. I'm always cold, and there were plenty of blankets and throws for me to use in the room. The decor is lovely. Admittedly I was a bit daunted when I read the rules for the house, it's a lot to read and to get through. But basically if you are a quiet, considerate guest who doesn't smoke cigarettes or e-cigarettes, then you'll be just fine. The next time I find myself in Vallejo, I won't have to think twice about where I'll be staying!
Jamie and Jerry are excellent hosts and their home is welcoming and comfortable. We look forward to staying with them again. We wrote a more complete review after our second night of staying with them.
Jamie and Jerry are delightful hosts. Jerry is a remarkable cook who delighted us with a creative breakfast, perfect coffee, and interesting teas on both our trips! They were thoughtful and generous about everything. And easy going. The house is clean and comfortable. They're also good with advice about wine country and the Bay area.
I really enjoyed my stay with Jamie and Jerry. Their house is lovely, very clean and the room was beautifully decorated. I even had my own bathrobe! Felt like I was in a hotel :) They also have a great kitchen with all the cooking facilities and tools that you could possibly need. Although Jerry is the king of cooking so I mainly spend most of my time in the kitchen learning some tricks and tips from him. Talking about food, the breakfast that Jerry put on is delicious! Crazy awesome homemade waffles and fruit salads. In general, the highlight of my stay was the hospitality of the hosts, Jerry and Jamie, who went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. They have left a very high standard for any future airbnb stays!

About the Host, Jamie, He'S Jerry
Yes, we DO eat a lot of waffles around here!
We are a modern, married couple in a fun, stable relationship. We both work hard but enjoy skiing, dancing and travel as well. We host parties and dinners regularly. Jerry likes to cook and you might be able to coax him into a delicious dinner to enhance your stay with us. Don't ask Jamie though, or you are likely to have soggy cornflakes!
Jamie comes with a small service dog, named Blizzard. He is randomly friendly (probably not at all random to him!) but don't be offended if he is stand offish. His job is to attend to Jamie.
We prefer to stay in extremely clean homes, as dust doesn't like Jamie, so we keep a very clean house. If you think something needs to be cleaner, tell Jamie, she loves learning new ways to be OCD!
We suggest that you familiarize yourself with the room that interests you, and perhaps the house rules BEFORE you contact us, They are not ALL rules: Think of the Pirate's Parley: they're more like guidelines, lol. We REALLY don't want you to be surprised by anything.
