About this listing
Cozy bedroom with warm, lively colors. This house was featured in Portlandia's 2014 season in the hilarious "Rent-It-Out," sketch! Perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Portland and NOT for a home-stay or work-from-home stay. We have a toddler and we share common areas of the house from 7am-8pm, then retire to a separate space for evening hours.
I am pleased and excited to announce that this house has been graced by none other than Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein of Portlandia for a sketch entitled "Rent-It-Out!" More Portlandia photos coming soon...
Private room with Queen size bed in my home near Alberta Arts district. Surrounded by gardens and artistic works, this home is a gallery and gathering space for special events such as concerts, yoga classes, art openings and other happenings. This is the Cully neighborhood with large, sprawling lots full of gardens and mature trees and walking distance to all of the art, food and music you desire on Portland's famous Alberta Street. Near major bus lines and MAX, this town is known for it's simple and efficient public transportation. Our neighborhood has it all though: art galleries, wine bars, sake house, sushi, Thai Food, African food, Ale houses, a plethora of restaurants, music venues, parks, shopping, art and food carts, tea houses, dessert spots, bike rental, bike paths, walking paths, unique local-made clothing/jewelry, vintage second-hand store, theatre, New Season's grocery store offering conscious, organic choices, and a new restaurant opening up just around the corner: Old Salt Marketplace featuring a restaurant, butcher's counter and bar.
The bedroom is spacious with about 180 sq. ft, a queen size bed, other sitting options, good light, bamboo floor, and a shared restroom just a few feet away. The other room in the house is also listed on Airbnb and the house has many common spaces to enjoy such as the living room/gallery, front porch and garden in the front yard. Here you can expect a peaceful, relaxing stay or getaway. The house is clean, tidy, bright and welcoming and you might just find many pieces of art in the gallery to fall in love with! Currently I am showing ceramics, photographs and paintings. More to come!
I am a ceramic artist and have works on display.
The pictured baby grand piano is used by Portland vocalist Jonathan Brinkley to teach voice lessons from time to time. His sessions are playful, inspiring, refreshing, and benefit more than just singing. He is available should you decide you'd like an impromptu lesson!
Your own bedroom, and shared spaces such as bathroom, living room, and front yard.
Interaction with guests
I live here and hope to show you around the space. I keep busy with being a Mommy, artwork, business and a full-time job, otherwise.
Other things to note
I have a toddler (born january 2015) and we are in and out of the house from 7am until 8pm nightly. We retire to a separate space after that, so the evenings are quiet. We begin our mornings in the shared space around 7am. Quiet hours are 10pm-7am. The kitchen is available for replenishing water and using the tea kettle and is not available for cooking or food preparation. There are lots of nearby restaurants/natural food store for dining/food options.
PLEASE PARK ON HOUSE-SIDE OF STREET IN FRONT OF HOUSE.
1. Please lock front door when leaving.
2. Remove shoes upon entering house.
3. Quiet hours are 10PM-7AM. Please whisper.
4. Be brief in the restroom as there is one to share! Please clean up after yourself and keep personal items in your room.
5. The kitchen is not available for cooking. However, you are welcome to use the tea kettle and to store a few small items in the refrigerator.
6. Please no scents, perfumes or colognes as we are sensitive.
7. Smokers: please smoke far away from the house to avoid smoke coming back in through open windows.
8. Check out is by 11AM. I will leave details concerning check-out upon arrival.

We are Jennifer Love and Jonathan Brinkley. We have been blessed with a child, Luca in January 2015. We have been offering B&B space for many years now and enjoy a separate studio to sleep in at night while our guests stay in the main house. I am Jennifer from Portland, Oregon via Salt Lake City, Utah. I am a ceramic artist by day and work in a local Southern Italian restaurant in the evenings. I love being a Mommy and I love music, dancing and cooking. I enjoy gardening and am currently growing winter greens and cover crop. One of my life mottos is to work hard and play big. Five things I can't live without: fine dark chocolate, kale, music, dance, and sunshine. My favorite traveling destinations so far are Sicily and Todos Santos, Mexico. Oh, how I love the desert, cactus and the gentle sound of palm trees rustling in the wind! I have a dream to run a large Bed and Breakfast, Hacienda style with warm desert colors, lots of tacos and homemade ice cream! Jonathan is a musician and voice teacher. Together we have traveled all over Europe sharing Jonathan's music via concerts in peoples' living rooms! We love to host and share all of our favorite spots in Portland.
