Located on the same block as the subway this is a top-floor apartment that has tons of natural light (7 windows) and is a perfect alternative to being near the craziness of downtown Manhattan while also being within minutes of Museum Mile (Central Park is 2 1/2 blocks away and the Guggenheim & Met are only 15 minutes walking distance away).
For sleeping there is a full size bed + a comfortable couch for a 3rd person. The sheets are quality high thread count and the towels heavy Turkish.
There are plenty of linens, fresh towels, dresser drawers, and closet space for your use.
Block is loaded with all the amenities of the city....2 grocery stories, pizza place, florist, library, Starbuck's, organic market, etc. There are several 24 hour vendors (a CVS, a fresh market, and a deli) within 3 minutes of the apt.
Apt is located only 15 steps from the #6 subway station at 96th Street yet because of its location in the rear of building, is extremely quiet.
Modern and eclectic in decoration you are guaranteed to feel like you're staying in a home away from home.
I also provide umbrellas, maps of the subway, a hair dryer, and as many TIPS for locals as you'd require.
This is a walk-up and worth every step!
Museum Mile, Central Park, and FDR
Interaction with Guests
I love interacting with guests to do my best to assure you have everything you need and a wonderful stay in the apt AND in New York City!
I love being able to walk to Central Park, The Guggenheim Museum, and so many other museums. I love the Jackie Kennedy Onassis reservoir for running, walking, and hearing so many languages.
The MOST convenient with a cross town bus right across the street and the 96th Street #6 train on sale block.
Other Things to Note
It is a walk-up to the top so best be in great shape.
I ask that guests remove shoes upon entering apartment.
Olivia is an amazing host. She is very lovely person, took care of us from the beginning. Aparment was very easy to find. Olivia waited for us in apartment with warm welcome. She made sure to show and explain everything regarding apartment, so we felt as home in no time. Olivia gave us some excelent tips for what to see and do in NYC, grocerie, laundry. This is the point. Everything you can possibly need during your stany is situated just few steps from the apartment (several groceries, pharmacy, several laundries, 24h store). Metro stop is literally just few steps. Great is, that you have everything really close and the apratmnet is very quiet, neighborhood is safe. Ultimate choise. Apartment looks exactly like on photos, even better in reality, there is plenty of space for everything, place is cosy and warm, fully equiped. Olivia was at our disposal during all our stay, on the phone or email ready to support us every time we needed. I highly recommend Olivia as your host and her apartment as you next stay, you will love it. Everything was perfect. Olivia, thank you for such amazing stay, hope to see you next time!
Einzige Kritik: etwas staubig an einigen Stellen. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und würden wiederkommen. Olivia, vielen Dank!
The flat is located in a peaceful area with the subway in the building that gets you around town easily.
Olivia was a great host that took good care if us!
We had a wonderful stay in New York. Not least because of the amazing apartment we lived (website hidden) really is a home away from home. Olivia is a friendly and reliable host. We'll be back !!! Thank you Olivia.
This is an excellent location right beside the E 96th St subway and within easy walking distance of the major museums and Central Park. The flat is light, airy, extremely clean and pleasingly furnished with an eclectic mix of stylish pieces. There is plenty of hot water, ample storage space, looks on to tree-filled back yards from the bedroom and it is surprisingly quiet given the location. The only drawback, which may be so only for a minority of people, is that the flat is on the 4th floor (I think Americans would call this the 5th floor since they call the ground floor the 1st floor) and this means lots of stairs. If you have lived in Edinburgh and Glasgow all your adult life as I have, this is not a big issue! Olivia is a charming, warm and informative host. She was in the flat to greet us when we arrived having kept up excellent communication by text and e-mail. This high quality of communication was maintained throughout our stay without any sense of intrusion. Olivia had placed flowers in all of the rooms - I know men aren't supposed to notice this sort of thing and, in truth, it took me a day or so to spot all the flowers, but I'm sure the subliminal effect was positive! Anyway, it's a great place to stay and it comes with a delightful, charming, solicitous host who knows the city well and can make excellent recommendations - I don't think we could have reasonably asked for more.
Our stay at Olivia's was lovely- the apartment is super cute and the spacious living area was great.
Olivia was a fantastic hostess and was very accommodating to our needs & gave us lots of hot tips and information about NYC for our first visit.
The apartment IS up FIVE flights of stairs- so be warned with heavy suitcases! Also, there is no iPod dock or TV - for the rare occasion you just wanted to chill on the couch and zone out from the bustle of NYC.
Super close to Central Park & lovely cafes on Madison Ave.
Thank you Olivia !!
We had 10 nights in Olivia's apartment. Olivia is a fantastic host, she is always easily contactable either by phone or email.
The apartment was just like the photos, the bed is super comfy. Very close to the subway and lots of supermarkets and cafes. I would recommend the apartment to anyone who doesn't mind walking up to the 5th floor!
I am a 40 year old non-smoking female who currently resides in New York City but was a long-time resident in San Francisco. I'm well-travelled, respectful of people's space and homes (seriously, I will treat it as if it were my own) and love meeting new people. I travel incessantly, am easy to get along with, and can share loads of information with you on things to do and places to go in NYC.
I own a home in Miami, Florida and live on the UES in a beautiful one-bedroom apt a mere 2 1/2 blocks from Central Park and within minutes of the Met, Guggenheim, and Jewish museums. This ultra-quiet apt is light-filled (7 windows) and more quiet then you can imagine.
I greet all my guests and give them a personal tour of the apt. Also provided are high quality towels and bedding.
My glass is always half-full and never half empty. I view the world as a friendly place.
